For me anything that goes right is default anyway, it's what we are supposed to do as a team. The one thing that keeps bugging me is the over helping. AD is a monster on defense and doesn't need help from AR, Bron or anyone. We still continue to leave players free on the 3 point line. If that was a player error it should have been fixed long ago but it keeps happening so it's definitely a defensive scheme by Pimple aka hotpockets. It really needs fixing cos it allows bad teams to hang around and good teams blowing us out.
I'd say what went Right was we won a 3rd straight game, and if we return home and beat DEN (fat-azz chance!), we have our first 4-game winning streak of the year, ladies 'n germs. AD was all kinds of went right: 26/15/11 with 3 blocks. Monster! (Not the type of monster Miles Bridges is with women. Different thang altogether.) We took a 74-58 lead into halftime. What went Wrong: Lax D in the 2nd half; the Charlotte effing Hornets put a scare in us by winning the 4th Q by 8...With around 2 minutes left, Brandon Miller hits a 3 to cut our lead to 4, and I realized I need to resume my yoga breathing exercises. Soon. Maybe tomorrow. Ommmmm...everything is One...or an and-one. ...Mostly because of a typical What Went Very Very Wrong Lakers dealio: Of our 4 starters not named D-Lo, we were 1 for 15 from 3. AR in particular couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Let's call it on "off night." The entire team was a worse-than-usually-dismal 8 of 34 (23% from 3). It's this kind of shooting you wanna flush down, but it won't go: you need an expert no-nonsense expensive plumber to get that blob of Bad down. Then tent the house. Damn...
+: It looks like a winning streak to me. Let's gain some momentum! -: That last quarter was a total disaster. Three point shooting. And poor AR who couldn't do anything.
even if this team manages to get into the playoffs, they're going nowhere playing that type of defense 4th quarter was a classic case of letting your foot off the gas too soon
Right: AD with the triple dub, Lebron with some ridiculous highlight dunks, Dlo three point shot returned, good team win to close out the road trip. Nice effort from the bench too: Prince, Max and Hayes doing well. Wrong, fourth quarter meltdown. AR had a very rough night, looked bad in all departments.
I hate big leads. This team really makes those games difficult and have a hard time cranking it back up as we squander the lead. This one never felt in jeopardy because Charlotte is THAT bad, but took our big guns getting 37 and 40 minutes when they should've been able to only play 24ish minutes. Good -4-2 roadie -Bron and AD both taught those kids in Charlotte some things -DLO leading the offense and the only one who remembered how to hit a 3 - the Rui/TP minute distribution Bad -2nd half focus, 4th Q near collapse - overall 3 point shooting - minutes played by starters - defense
I'm not going to be too upset about them letting up in the second half of the last game of a long/stressful road trip. Bridges and Miller also just made a ton of shots. I thought LeBron looked great physically and we get a few days off between these next two sets of back-to-backs. We're going to need to make a real push up the standings at some point and I feel good about LeBron being physically able to do so. Christie also continues to look more comfortable, when we can limit his decision-making to spotting up, attacking closeouts and keeping the ball moving he's fine out there.
With this team, no lead is safe. They can just as easily catch a team from behind as well as let a big lead slip away. While it can make for some exciting endings, it’s not a championship caliber issue.
To be fair if Vando and Cam were available for the rotation that would go a long way to remedy that. Sure injuries are part of the game but this is just plain physics.
Game at Utah before the ASG break will be very important to get the tiebreaker. Lakers don't want to finish 10 and be forced to play an away game in Utah to advance in the play-in
i really wonder what's going through ainge's head in utah. they're playing just well enough to give away the 12th pick in the draft this year to build a culture with a bunch of players who won't be there in a year.
this game looked exactly like last year's playoffs, we went to toe with them, but in the end we lost.
We can’t beat Denver, it just is what it is now, they have our number and are just that bit better than us that we cannot close out a game against them, same as those last 4 playoff games
Jamal Murray always torches this team. We gotta get someone who can make things difficult for him cause he's no where near this good against any other team.
I thought the Lakers played really well particularly down so many bodies. Clearly notice the size gap without Cam and Vando available but also think the Lakers found something as this Denver team does look weaker without guys like Brown and Jeff Green around.
Better hope we don’t match up with them again in the playoffs or it will be the exact same result. Trae would not help us at all against them- he would be shutdown by their defense. Great game plan by Ham to leave their hottest shooter open throughout the first half- it worked soooooo well, you big dummy.
