I was optimistic it was going to be a short term thing and Barns would get us back up soon, so I wasn’t too stressed But now that I think about it, the idea of this site randomly dying and having to try to discuss Laker basketball with some of the other online corners of the fandom like Reddit, Twitter, etc is truly terrifying lol
Sorry for the scare guys. The NBA does not play about copyright infringement lol. But I don’t think there’s any lasting damage from the infringement claim.
I realized I might miss some of you peeps. Maybe even @Weezy I look at LG for a few minutes, but it was unbearable to even read. I was already searching for domains like LB2.0 or some crap lol. To the boss man @Barnstable, my apologies for the thread causing the issues. Flew under the radar for years, but we knew there was probably an expiration date on that.
@Barnstable This does bring up a question of an additional, spare channel. Do you have a twitter we can all follow? Or perhaps you should open one for Lakersball. I've been talking to all y'all for more than 2 decades at that point, I am not about to start looking for new online friends.
Lakersball has a facebook page but I don’t post anything on it really. But it’s good as a meeting spot incase of emergencies or so I can give y’all notices when something crazy like this shuts down LB. https://www.facebook.com/lakersballfans?mibextid=cr9u03
Ha I forgot we already have a Twitter too: https://x.com/lakersballtweet?s=21&t=EKJR8s-_5A69jEar1BvnBg
That was indeed not fun, I feared for a day that the site was gone. I went to check the FB group but nothing was posted to it. Next day it was still down and that’s when I messaged Barns directly on FB asking what was up and he told me, I’m super happy he got let in to the site to sort this out. You don’t realize how attached to a site and it’s people you have become until it suddenly isn’t there, not being able to talk about the Boston game with you folks sucked. Oh and sirron, I’m not the one who made light of and then laughed at someone’s lifelong and ongoing trauma, that was you. So I really don’t care if you’d miss me or not, but you keep on doing you. I actually am dealing with some pretty bad health issues at the moment though, so you might have to miss me for real at some point here, if I ever suddenly stop posting, know it wasn’t by choice folks, you guys are the only people I talk sports with, lost all my real life friends to the aforementioned trauma incident. So yeah, I appreciate you all, it’s been great talking Lakers and many other things with you guys for decades, I hope it continues but we’ll see. If not just know it was great times.
I was offended and inappropriately lashed out where I knew it would hurt. I'm sorry, and it should never have happened. You volunteered to help the site by moderating in your spare time, and I'm sure my excessive conspiracy theory posting was exhausting. Even if it all turned out to be true (Not saying it was), there was a better way to handle all of it. I apologize and ask for your forgiveness. Life is definitely too short to hold grudges. Even if you choose not to engage, I don't want to purposely avoid liking your "like worthy" posts any longer in attempts not to offend you. We're still family even if I'm the distant cousin you secretly or openly loathe. I'm sorry to hear you are having a tough season of life. PM sent.
Definitely hoping for the best for you (and any other posters dealing with health issues). And completely agree. I appreciate this place and talking about the Lakers here has been great times.
If the site goes down for whatever reason, hopefully only temporarily, the easiest way to connect is through reddit. r/lakers Obviously, it isn't nearly as good or fun as having a dedicated forum, but if lakersball disappears, just get in there and ask about any of us. Someone will respond and we'll go from there.
