Good: Superb shooting night, what else can you say? That happens for us once in a blue moon. 4 guys with 20 plus points. 60 percent shooting overall, 65% from three. The bad: weak fourth quarter when we had them on the rope up by 20 plus. Gotta put a team away.
The good …. everything on offense …. what a fun game to watch. The bad …. knowing we’re hell bent on trading DLO and we’ll be losing all that marvelous talent on offense. He’s got a one of a kind repertoire.
One for the record books The Good - shooting. One of the best shooting nights we've ever had including DLO going NBA Jam fire mode. ...So that's what it feels like to be any team visiting Crpto. - aside from the shooters, Vando deserves credit for having his best offensive outing as a Laker. The Bad - defense. Gave to 132 to the Bulls. The former future Laker known as DeRozan cooked for a game high 32. Thought AC was trending in the direction when he ripped off a quick 8 to start the game. - Ham. Lineups. TP's minutes. Forgetting to play Rui when his play deserved it.
Rui's sweet midrange game is coming back. He was also, IIRC, 2-2 from long. But then everyone was hitting shots. Enjoy it when it comes, 'cuz if we know these guys, we're gonna finish a night shooting 36% overall sooner than later. 22 made 3s is the Lakers all-time record, and we did it twice, the last time this past NOV against MEM and in 2019 vs. the damned C-Bags. Just looked it up. Surprising - to me - the NBA team record for most 3s made in a game is 29, and it was by MIL in 2020. I would've thought the GSW would have the record, for obvious reasons. Will some team hit 30 3s in a game? I think so, yea. And maybe this year or the next two years, simply because 3s are way up, there are more guys who can make 'em than ever. It won't be us, though. We avg 11 made 3s per game this year, 28th in the NBA. Buck Foston: they are averaging 16.3 made 3s per game this year. Just saw Cam is out at least 2 weeks. Man...Seems like it ain't in the cards for us this year, mates.
You took 58 3s, you're not going to get whistles on that. But your team did get away with murder anytime Dray was involved in any physical battle. Great game. Probably the best January game I've ever seen that wasn't based on an individual performance but the combined efforts of both teams. Definitely got the play-in championship vibes. The Good -Bron continues to give two middle fingers to father time. Buckets, rebounds, the triple double, and just how much he enjoys the matchup. Top notch. -AD's grit and pushing through the pain after being assaulted by Dray. -Vando everywhere all at once. Couple loud mistakes but we're not in this game without him. Astonishingly he actually got 41 minutes (I feel like Ham is going to make us pay for that one) -DLO with a wild one. Really summarized the entire D'Angelo experience. That banked confidence this month was greatly needed after a few of those TOs. -DLO and Austin really competed defensively. Thought we got playoff efforts from them on that side. The Bad -Ham being Ham. Assignments. Timeouts. Lineups. Hating Rui. - having to play AD, Bron, Vando, Austin, and DLO essentially an entire game. Those minutes could cause an upcoming DNP or a flat outing against Houston. -AD, Bron, Vando, and TP all had injuries of varying degrees in this one. - only 9 made 3s against a team who put up 58 of them. That typically won't go our way.
When you shoot 3's all game, how the f*** are you suppose to get foul calls? The Lakers went to the hoop 90% of the time.
Blatant anti- Laker bias: How in the Hell did none of the three refs not deem Donkey Green’s full arm swing across AD’s face a Flagrant Foul!?!?! It’s non calls like these that make me want to stop watching.
The hypocrisy of the coach who unleashes the two dirtiest players of this generation. Have some cheese with your whine, little Stevie.
hilarious to see warriors fans crying about the lakers shooting more FTs when 1. their team shot nothing but 3s all game and 2. stuff like draymond clocking AD and his obvious moving screen on the curry 3 in double OT went uncalled
f*** Brooks The bad: the game. The effort. Energy. Banged up players. Ham. The worse: have to play again in less than 24 hours. The GS game is going to cost us two wins.
Down by 30, what is Ham doing playing his main players 37+ minutes? He really seems out of touch with his players, their strengths, how they fit together, rotations, etc. I get he's a cool guy, but he really does seem like a terrible coach.
I am one of the most calm Lakers fan who is normally fine with riding things out and giving guys time to figure things out. Took awhile for me to get down on Mitch and Jim. Ham has wasted his time here, he really needs to go but I know it will not be until the end of the year. If I found out he was working for the C Bags, it would not surprise me.
The team needs another center badly. Senguin makes AD look small. Obviously didn't help that he was hobbled.
