At the very least, I also like that Rivers is off the board. As others mentioned, I had a real concern we'd hire him if we moved on from Ham.

I get the thought of cutting bait with something that isn't working but can't gloss over that this was bad management. If you are firing a coach this quickly you didn't do your due diligence in the beginning. I also can't imagine Doc being an upgrade.

 

wonder if we're bidding the teams against each other with a similar pool of assets.

for brown: rui/jhs/lightly protected 2027 1st (top-8?)?

for murry: dlo/jhs/even more lightly protected 2027 1st (top-4) and maybe a lotto-protected swap?

we could tell each team that whomever jumps first gets the goods?

 

what is the interest with brown? he's not really a pg n his stats this season seems inline with his career. he just had a great playoff run like gabe

 

in my scenario, we keep dlo in a brown trade, so we don't need a pg. brown's a 3 and d wing who's proven not to shrink under the bright lights; i think that's the interest. then again, so was danny green before he got here, so who knows?

 

I imagine so. My concern is using the first for Brown.

If we were somehow able to package up Rui for Murray then I would be thrilled.

 

I like Brown and was interested in us signing him. I don't know if I want us to trade for him though.

 

I would need a notarized document signed in blood by Ham that he would play Brown as the starting SF and not Prince.

I think Brown is a floor raiser and brings it in the playoffs. A versatile forward who can guard 4 positions at a high level and hit some corner 3s is a big get. He's a huge upgrade over Prince. That said, it's not our biggest need and we only have enough to swing for one starting level player. If you can get him for Rui, 2nds, Lewis and Hayes or Prince then do it. I'm not giving up a first for him though.
