they're a well-coached but not very talented team. shows you what execution, energy, and attention to detail can accomplish. they'd get murdered in a playoff series, but could probably finish with a better record than us despite us employing two top-10 nba players. all because we're essentially lazy and/or dumb.
It’s slightly depressing that we have a healthy AD and Bron for the most part and still can’t get above .500, I know we’ve had injuries but it still sucks.
yeah, it's only a partial excuse. we've lost 5-7 games on just sheer laziness and inattention to detail, imo.
can't win B2Bs and can't beat teams on B2B. this is just an extremely poorly coached team and no trade is going to change that, unless we are trading for a new coach.
Worst Fawking officiating I’ve seen all season!!!! Every single Utah player received Superstar Treatment when making an offensive move. It was so bad that I just turned off the game early in the Fourth. Just send the tape of this one to any idiot who claims that the League favors the Lakers.
It’s wild to me after that WCF run, after a very solid offseason retaining those player we got, that we feel just as hopeless if not more so than this time last season. At least then I felt we could trade Russ and the firsts for some solid players, now we only have 1 first, and apparently we’d have to give up our only good players to get better players, so why bother. Even with better players Ham can’t coach so it doesn’t really matter, it’s a lost season.
Sure looks that way with plenty of observation on so many areas his sub standardness to indicate that. The WCF run and Rob pulls off a great dollars for talent off season to bring almost all of the principals back … for the continuity the team has needed …. and he “two face” (again) praises that fact and then from the get go torpedos every last bit of that continuity with the new offense, and once Vando was back NEVER played and has YET to play the starting lineup that was most effective for us most of the time. What the hell!!
I am pretty sure it was a recoil after all the Toronto crying. They just didn't need to do more in the Suns game.
Losing Dennis is costing the Lakers this season Having a PG who can stay healthy lost Having a PG who can compliments Reaves lost Having a PG who can actually play POA defense lost
Gabe could have replaced 90-95% of that on a pros and cons balance sheet. We can’t keep talking about it like it was a FO screw up if being honest. Dennis wanted to be promised a starting spot in the rotation. That wasn’t going to happen. Dennis’s speed advantage in POA defense was likely going to be balanced by Vincent (not a slow guard himself) being a little bigger and more able to handle switches onto bigger players. Offense likely a push all aspects of their repertoires compared.
I don't know how the conversation went with the FO but I do know Dennis was a warrior. Gabe is a theoretical at this point. It's just a fact at this point team has no good POA guard and has no PG who can eat minutes and be someone that defense needs to adjust for. The league is too talented now and roleplayers make a huge difference. You can see this with Wood who when he plays basically erases the rebounding issues the Lakers have.
yeah, it's weird, but the miami game sort of ended the season for me. we needed to strap in and put some wins together, and lebron had an ominous quote about taking it easy, and then we did. and then it spiraled. re: schroder: yes, we'd be better if he was here. no, it wasn't really possible. so i'm not crying about it. if you want to be mad, be mad at dennis for (once again) believing his value was higher than where we placed it. we've known who he was and appreciated it, and he's taken it as an insult and been wrong twice.
