We can't possibly lose today As promised, the 'That's Mamba' activations launched . Billboards around the country, including New York City, recalled moments in Kobe's career when he played through adversity such as injury. To accompany the ads, Nike released a short clip featuring a young athlete shooting a basketball left-handed with a cast on their presumably dominant right hand. If that sounds familiar, Kobe himself famously showed up to Lakers practice and did the same after breaking his right hand in 1999. Those displays of mental toughness and sheer determination went on to define who Kobe was as a competitor throughout his career, hence the tagline That's Mamba.
Right: AD monster game. Wrong Rui and Lebron twinsies with 5 for 14 shooting. Not enough D in the second half either.
Right: AD was huge and what we need from him. Lebron sorta looked his age this game. Even for him, if that makes any sense. After a catastrophic start - after the first 9 mins of the game we were down 32-14 but came back to take the lead. We need to improve though, or we can't hang with the Bags, Wolves, 76ers, Bucks, or Nugs. Or at least: I got my doubts. Damn. Sobering game. Bags play really good D, but their O was, I thought, off the damned charts. Wrong: Defense not tight enough. Bags are horrifyingly good. The addition of Jrue and Zingis is deadly. Damn. I mean: efffffff! Rui's shooting was off but that didn't cause the loss, I got nothin'...but as of today we aren't as good as the damned C-Bags. Damn. They're undefeated at home so far and went out West for the road trip and only lost to GSW in OT. They beat SAC, Slips - dropping 144 and 145 against them and (126) on us and now they're back home to face...Pistons. Other than that: had a great xmas. Hope you guys did, too. Did Lakers losing to the Bags dampen it? Yea, it did for me. But I'll get over it. We will. We play 'em in Bahstun Feb 1st. Until then: a LOT of home games for us.
lol, that guy had some weirdly over the top complaints to start, imo. i want jaylen brown taking long twos on the fast break. if he makes them, he makes them. that's one of the worst shots boston's got in their bag.
How easy it is to look at video and criticize post-hoc. There are legit reasons to look at film and learn from your mistakes, but this guy doesn't strike me as anyone you'd want to hire as staff. And then: he sorta scream-whines, which was fingernails-on-chalkboard for me. Dude: chill at least a little. It physically pained me to see us lose to the Bags, but right now they're crazy good and we...have issues. Hey, bless him. I hope he had fun making this.
Hope we are up for the absurdly young and physical Hornets. Don't take 'em lightly! We need some wins to get back on track. (<----says every Laker fan before this game, but ya know: they're right!)
Bueno: Max great on both ends Austin, a joy to watch again! AD dominating both ends Hachi Wood finally doing what he was brought in to do Bridges’ rejection Malo: Terrible defense of three point shots throughout first half LeBron not making any attempt to get back after he threw the ball away(TWICE) Non existent defense in the first half. Coaching staff letting team just Jack long brick after brick throughout the first half. Basura: The refs for calling an offensive foul on Max for the exact same play they let a Hornet do against Austin. Throwing a tech at AD for mean mugging after a monstrous dunk! Pathetic.
What FrontofJersey22 said. Our bench: 11 of 17 from downtown. AD: hasn't had a no-show game for a long time now. 4 more BLOCKS by him! Christian Wood: ready to play when called upon. Max!: hit 2 of 3 from deep. We had a one point lead going into the half, then blitzed 'em in the 3rd, outscoring them by 18. What Went Wrong: I thought the AD tech for...emotion? was stupid and that ref should be reviewed. What a dumb, weak-assed call. WRONG: Has nothing to do with this game: I watched the Pistons blow a 20 point lead and lose in OT in Boston. Broke my heart. I was pulling hard for DET. Damn: 28 straight losses.
Charlotte is a bad team that is poorly coached: not much to take away from this one, other than the Lakers roleplayers play much better against bad teams then good teams. Max, Rui, Wood were all really good
The Good - team vibes After some frustrating games, beating up on a bad team leaves everyone feeling good - Bron and AD got a lot of rest (logging 25 and 26 minutes) - everyone but one starter played well - 63 bench points - shooting -- 54% FGs, 50% from 3, perfect from the line The bad - starting lineup: the group had to dig themselves out of a hole in the 1st. Still not a sensible starting group. - TP was bad in this scrimmage...1/7 FGs - we were (barely) outrebounded
scrimmage is a word I associate with games that don't count, now I'm going to have to look up the official definition. BRB. It is as I remembered, but word definitions all change over time. You may be onto something here as a trend setter
great hustle and we deserved OT, but looking more and more like this team needs a trade apart from AD and Bron you can't rely on any of the supporting cast to produce on a nightly basis. Couldnt get any stops down the stretch. Wood's inclusion in the ending lineup was strange.
The Good -AD and a sick Bron did what needed to be done. 59 points on 58% shooting The Bad -Rest of the roster should apologize. They were trash. Shot 30%? -Ham: Hey bud, why was the message going into the 3rd not ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK?! KAT, Ant, and McDaniels were in foul trouble and you didn't hunt them like at all. That gave them the game. Also, Wolves have a guy named Naz Reid. Didn't scout for him last game and doubled down on the piss poor prep in this one. Refs: f*** you
