Yeah, in Game Time against Philly I made a comment Maxey was a beast (because he was constant motion, an athletic and well put together dude and was hitting shots from deep). LOL I got a "MEH" from someone that he was just gunning and hitting some shots. By. The. Way. it is crazy that our BIG MAN runs the most miles on defense and offense of anybody on the team, and people wonder why he has tended to get injured while playing the way he does, not to mention his time high in the air.

Yeah, he's got really solid activity. Much better fit as Embiid's #2 instead of NBA Santa (Beard, gut, eats too much, people sit on his lap)

Looking at our defensive speed guys, it's a shame we haven't given Vando, Cam, Max (3 of our 4 fastest defenders) a look to see what disruptive havoc they can cause.

Nikola Jokic: “When I finish my career, I would really like no one to know me”

Denver center Nikola Jokic spoke about his life goals.

“At the end of the day, we're just basketball players. We are just good at what we do, but the media is what surrounds us, and, of course, we get paid thanks to the media, thanks to popularity.

I guess some people like to be famous. Personally, I don't like it, honestly. When I retire, I would really like no one to know me, and I would really like my child or children in the future to remember me as a father, and not as a basketball player.

Another big goal of mine is not to have a phone. Living in the moment, like you said, being a normal person, like going out for a drink with a buddy, or going out to dinner, or playing with the kid, or riding horses, and not having anyone make a big deal about it,” the Serbian big man said

At this point if it took DLO, one or both of JHS and Christie plus Hayes and a pick (??) plus someone else not named Reaves .... still sounds pretty good to me? What do you guys that know Murray and Capella's games now TODAY ..... and are armchair trade Honks think? Not my thing. We "have" to give them something attractive, right, IF Murray is All that from what a number of you are saying here?

I think we would seek some sort of combo of Murray and a shooter, such as Bogdan. I didn't think it will be Capella. I bet it would be surprising how cheap Murrray would be to obtain.

Yes, I give all of that for Murray. His value has been diminished in Atlanta. He can play off the ball, but the problem is that Trae can't, so it minimizes Murray's impact. I'd be willing to give up anyone except Reaves (obviously Lebron & AD aren't in any trade discussion). Murray is the right age to help us now and pair with AD for the post-Lebron era.

I'd be all in on Murray, but I do wonder if there is someone who has a stockpile of future picks to beat whatever offer we can put together.

Everyone and their mother seems to have a good PG (except the Lakers): this I think diminishes Murray market a bit
Of the playoffs teams who could really use a PG? Looks like possibly Philly and Miami and the Lakers, Pelicans and that's about it.
    Crazy stacked positions right now
    Bost: White/Jru
    Mil: Lillard
    Orl: Suggs, Anthony
    CLe: Garland
    NYK: Brunson
    Indiana: Hallibutron
    Min: Conley
    OKC: SGA
    DEn: Murray
    LAC: harden/westbrook
    SAC: Fox
    Dal: exum, irving
NOP: they play point Zion and Alavarado
    Houston: FVF
PHO: Booker and they got nothing to trade
    GSW: Steph

Kind of insane that the Lakers are a playoff team when you compare how bad they are at the PG spot to everyone else TBH

You mentioned it early in your post, but Pels make sense as the biggest threat. Murray helps alleviate some of the pressure on defense for McCollum. They could offer something like Herb + Trey Murphy with (4) 1st rounders and not miss those picks at all. Like OKC, don’t they have like 14 1st rounders over the next 4 years or something like that?

I just don't know what direction that team wants to go: I think they should probably more of traditional PG to setup Zion and BI vs a combo guard like Murray. Plus right they almost have too many good players now who need minutes so a consolidation trade where they go after a true star vs a good player like Murray.

Plus the biggest thing is I don't Murray together with CJ makes sense. You get the same problems Portland or even Cleveland has where they are just not big enough at the guards to play consistent defense.

That being said if they want Murray, they would have the better assets.

wallangong beat me to it: NO has a need and has the assets.

i actually think murray can play pg with a smaller sg like mccollum because murray can guard most sgs (people aren't going to try to post him up unless they have edwards or some other brute sg).

i hope they don't see it that way, and that they believe in dyson daniels as a pg and thus don't want to upgrade there.

i will say that NO's draft picks are ours (this year or next) and then all milwaukee's. only the 2027 milwaukee pick would project to possibly be a decent one, and that's only if giannis falls off (i'd predict by then, but who knows?). so not that great, though numerous.

i'd give anything but reaves/AD/bron to get murray this season. i think he's a guy that could bump us up a tier right now. like getting a bigger schroder who makes fewer head-scratching pg plays on offense.

all that said, if i were atlanta, i'd call toronto and see if they'd be interested in a siakam/murray swap. i'd add assets to murray to get siakam, who's a good fit next to young.

i just don't know about Murray as SG: In theory it could work but in practice I just don't see why it works that much better in NO when in ATL in a similar situation with both Young and McCollum being small, bad defenders, defense has been a consistent problem for them.

TO is just being weird. I get it that teams like Indiana have successfully navigated several eras without ever really tanking but they have to make a decision whether to build around Barnes or not.

I feel the exact same way the Joker does. With the minor difference that I'm not gigantic, rich, Serbian, or a basketball genius who's already won a ring and MVPs, he and I are exactly the same.

one of the downsides of being a public figure IMO. Imagine not being able to go anywhere without getting crowded for autographs. Would be cool for about a week and then get old really fast.

i love that guy. when he kills us, i don't even really get mad. he's just a bona fide badass. like dirk and tim duncan. he likes playing and competing, but he realizes how ridiculous it all is. and he happens to be just GREAT at it.

Yeah I don’t see how anyone wouldn’t like Jokic aside from him shredding your favorite team in game.

Yea, as a lifelong fledgling writer, the all-time MDS (Most Desirable Situation) is, for me, the case of Thomas Pynchon, who started winning major literary awards with his first novel in 1963, and has been on a Nobel short list for decades...and no one knows anything about him. His friends haven't spilled. He's never given an interview, and the most recent verifiable pic of him was from his college years in the 1950s, Cornell. He's a huge deal and yet no one bothers him...'cuz as a writer he opted out of any publicity around 1963. He's going to die (born in 1937: 85 years old now) without having ever allowed his picture to be taken, much less given an interview. We have to glean who he was solely from his work...which is fantastic. (He's "appeared" on The Simpsons, twice, drawn with a bag over his head, but allegedly his own voice. He loves the show, so consented to be a part of it.)

Sleuths have determined he wrote his most famous novel, Gravity's Rainbow, while living in a small room near the strand in Manhattan Beach, smoking weed incessantly.

But sports figures cannot be "invisible." Visibility comes with the territory. I wouldn't want to be recognized on the street, have people find out where you live and come around, have to build a wall around your "compound", etc. The price of fame's costs have always seemed too steep for me. Some guys clearly love being famous and a household name, a person even your grandmother knows by sight, even though she doesn't follow "sports."

I was glad the jury gave the two election poll workers in Georgia $185 million for what Giuliani did to them. They'll never get anything near it, but they were never public figures making huge amounts of $$$ and having people constantly ask for autographs, but their personal lives were ruined. For no good reason at all. What. A. Nightmare!

The Bulls should be involved in a trade for Murray.Would Atlanta be interested in Levine if they could get off a four and five year deal of Hunter and Murray? Would the Bulls take Hunter and Russell + pick?
