He needs more mins - hard to find a rhythm when you are getting yanked after 20 minutes nightly we paid him just to sit on the bench behind f***ing Taurean Prince..shameful man
Rui held his own against Gobert and Kat IMO. He was the best option, Rudy isn't much of an offensive threat, and Kat is too quick for Hayes or Wood on the perimeter. I actually think that we match up well with Minnesota as is.
LOL Rui …. sorry man! Guess no one was entertained by your 21 points, Kawhi lite game picking back up with 8-14, 3-5 from 3, 6 boards, 0 TOs and one of what would have been one of the most vicious dunks of the year if you didn’t miss it again. One of those is going down at some point and it’s going to be awesome. But no attaboys for you tonight.
He would get better with more and more consistent minutes. And shore up as well the weaker parts of his game they want him to work on. Some of those out of nowhere attempts of vicious dunks are really impressive. Too bad the nastiest ones have not gone down yet. But does anyone else think he looks physically more explosive this year?
He was open. The stats say he's a knock down shooter this year, but I don't know. If he hits 2-3 of those 3's, it might be a closer game down the stretch.
Rui and Prince minutes need to swithc places....no way should prince be playing 31 f***ing MPG and Rui at 24 mpg. f***ing Ham man...
Few NBA players would admit it if their face mask was bothering their shot, vision, breathing, etc. Or that their breathing feels different after having broken nose surgery. That could be bothering him, though. His outside shot seems like night and day before/after broken nose.
It's definitely bothering him. I've noticed it on a few rebounds he's missed out on, I think he's lost track of the ball. Then the FT he took a few games ago, he took the mask off and put it on the ground when he stepped to the line. Couldn't tell in that OKC game based on his stat line, but I do think it's affecting him. Wonder how long he has to wear it. If it's awhile, maybe try another one or two till he gets one he likes.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices this; I thought maybe I was reading into it too much. If Rui has said anything about the hindrance, I missed it, but no wonder, 'cuz I don't read all the "content" on the Lakers that's now overwhelmingly available. I do think he's pretty bad-a** to come back so soon after his "nasal fracture" and the earlier concussion. Ten days ago - the 17th - he said he expects to be wearing the mask for "at least four more weeks."
Official site has them an inch apart. It's more like two (use photos of each of them next to Bron as a reference point). Size isn't just height though, Rui is a significantly bigger guy than Cam by sheer mass.
Didn't like how he started. Thought he was settling and got too 3 happy. When he went to work in the mid range and starting attacking the rim is when it got going for him. He's too good for how he's been used largely this season. It's on Ham to figure out lineups and player combos that maximize Rui with real playing time where he's in there long enough to get comfortable and get a rhythm.
