i think i would have hoped to be 2 wins better than we are, especially given all the injuries. it's not the end of the world; we got smashed on the road by a good team shooting the lights out. let's see how we respond against det, which has me a bit nervous, tbh.
not an offensive guy and now not a defensive coach either lol....just poor man version of Doc "cry me a" River, nothing but lame cliche n motivational speaches
yeah, i'd feel icky about it. i get that people make mistakes and you can't understand others' situations fully...but man, show some restraint. i'm also not sure he's more valuable than vando/rui in terms of on-court impact.
What went right? Pretty much everything especially for Dlo! Wrong? Nothing important. Hopefully we can win this back to back.
The good -We destroyed a historically bad Pistons team. It's almost sad they wanted this one and came out that awful. -AD and DLO were great. They were locked in and ready to dominate the game. -Bron and AD each played only 29 minutes. I refuse to let that give me hope for night two of our back to back, they've already fooled me with that false hope before. - Cam is back with his same energy - The bad - most of our players are too inconsistent to ride this wave into OKC. -Max and AR were quiet, we didn't need them but they didn't do much. AR's biggest contributing was being the adult on the court when we played our 3rd string guys.
Okc isn't exactly some kind of powerhouse though. They are 5-4 at home. I wouldn't even consider a win there a steal. They have lost two straight games though, so I expect them to be up for the Lakers no question.
The good: beat up on lowly DET and it felt like taking a hot shower after the grime and slog of that 44 point loss in PHI. Really good: AD: 28/16/4 with 3 blocks. The ridiculously good: D-Lo: 13 of 17 from the field, 35 pts in 34 mins, with 9 dimes. The happy: Cam is back! And Jalen H-S is On The Board. The bad: not a whole lot. But Max/Wood/Fudge/AR combined to go 0-13 from 3. Did anyone tell them they're not shooting in Crypto? Can we win in OKC on a BTB? I don't think so, but I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. On this 4 game trip I thought 4-0 would be pie in the sky. 3-1 was the best we could reasonably hope for. 2-2, given the injuries: I'm okay with it. 1-3: was my big fear. 0-4: we would've all been wailing and gnashing our teeth, and I couldn't see that, either. In 22 hours we'll see if it was 3-1 or 2-2.
This is what happens when you only have 7 NBA caliber players available on the second night of a back to back. Thought AD and DLO picked up right where they left off last night, but that energy hit Empty by the second quarter. Against a young, hungry athletic team led by a top 5 MVP candidate... yeah, that's not going to work. Prince, Christie, Wood and JHS combined: 7/26. That's half your able bodied (non garbage time) players tonight. Awful.
Agreed, Dlo and AD were great in the first quarter but the whole team let down by the second quarter and gave up 42 points. Yes, it was a very predictable loss that I knew was going to happen, but even still it wasn't acceptable. No D, no energy after the first quarter. Bench sucked. The bad - the last three quarters of the game. The good - Trudell's news that we might even have all three of Cam, Vando and Rui back with a face mask on Saturday. Please let it be so.
Energy didn't hit empty IMo; JHS came in and OKC went to zone and basically won the game. Offense immediately burned to the ground OKC also seems to have limitless supply of lengthy athletic guys to crush Honestly think the Lakers win this one pretty easily if they were healthy as AD and LeBron had their way. On a side note Lakers would have had a still a good shot of Prince Max etc would just hit open 3s
The Bad: Wood. He’s a terrible rebounder and defender for his size. He has really only affected a positive outcome of one game so far this season. I completely understand why he’s never asked back. Just garbage. The Good: If Vando, Rui, and Cam can get back on the floor, we will have the chance to become a very good defensive team.
Right: D-Lo and AD put together really good BTB games. Wrong: we gave up 78 points in the 2nd and 3rd Qs. AR is 5 for 23 from deep over the last 6 games. We need him to shoot like we know he can. Vando/Rui/Cam, with Christie just getting into some zen zone with the 3s: exactly what we need.
