They just needed to show patience and re-run the bubble title team. Instead the stupid Russ trade happened and ruined an era.
The "core" would have been AD/Lebron/Kuzma/Caruso/KCP/DS and Reaves instead it feels like Humpty Dumpty trying to put the pieces back together

I don't think that team would have gotten past Denver either. I actually think that this team is better.

Would love to get Caruso back tho, but that trade wasn't why we didn't bring him back.

    Latest from Fischer on LaVine...

(There's more in the piece, but this is the significant portion)

If you want just the click bait headline...

    Some AC stuff in there

Out a month and they weren't winning before... yikes! They're also down to one PG and he's 5'8".

Maybe they'll call Wall and see if he wants to Dougie in Memphis?

Rose is close to coming back, but he's missed 7 games and counting with a knee injury. You probably want to be cautious with that and monitor his work load given the injury history.

I love H-Town hustle Bald Eagle. But I'll be damned, if I gave up 2 1st rd picks for him.

Scoring a lot on a bad team isn't the hardest thing to do .

Lakers biggest need is a good defender at the PG position and who isn't a complete liability on O .

    Zach Lavine isn't the answer

I would love to somehow get Caruso back on the Lakers. His skillset can complement Lebron/AD/Reaves perfectly…

Having said that, I think the only way the Lakers try to get Caruso is by also taking on Lavine and we would likely have to give up future picks as well.

Salary matching wise it would have to be Lavine/Caruso for DLo/Rui/Gabe Vincent and picks.

A trade like that would really change the dynamics of our current team, where either Lavine or Reaves will have to play point guard. Our depth chart becomes:

    Lavine/Caruso/JHS
    Reaves/Christie
    Prince/Reddish
    Lebron/Vando
    AD/Wood/Hayes

I think this could work…. Reaves/Caruso backcourt would be awesome from a “we found these diamonds in the rough ourselves” standpoint

Not sure how our starting five would work

    AD
    Lebron,
    Vando
    Reddish
    Lavine

Not sure that would work because nobody is a good PG. So, then you have to put Reaves back in as a starter and pair him with either Reddish are Caruso. Maybe that works, but why would we bring a 41 million dollar player and not start him??? So, then you are correct, we have to start Lavine with Reaves and that is a very week defensive backcourt.

I don't think the Lavine trade makes any sense for this team.

The only weak points this team has: Caring about playing at a high level in any given quarter and a big man who can bang with the Joker.
We don’t need an over priced, often injured “star.”
Of course you do a Caruso for Vincent swap, but would Chicago really do it?

Chicago would never do that. They're asking for two 1sts for him.

Nobody is giving TWO firsts for him. One and a decent player coming back sounds fair.

I think it's standard negotiations: teams are offering one, they ask for two and someone either counters with a 1 st + 2nds and/or a young prospect.
