my wmc: a few of those made threes spread out to some other games, and we're 9-2 instead of 6-5. seriously, you can't hit 22 threes one night and 4 or 6 other nights. that's insane.
Yeah, I was never a fan of him taking (6) 3’s a game. Pretty much the worst idea since playing 3 guards at the same time.
Team desperately needs a good defensive guard who can handle ball pressure. FO needs to focus on bringing guys like Caruso or Schroeder back. They both would be perfect for this team Quick guards like Fox and FVF just waltz to into the lane and breakdown the defense completely against DLo and Reaves Reaves is clearly not a PG either. Needs a guy who can set him up where he can be a playmaler instead of being harassed all the way up and down the court just trying to setup an action
wasted an incredible performance by lebron. game would've been a lot closer if AD had bothered showing up. sabonis just straight up abused him
Yeah and we're 0-2 against the Kings this year already...that is not acceptable. We should have beaten the Kings last night esp since they already beat us earlier in the year. Sabonis dominating AD? WHAT THE f***.
Ayton had 7 offensive rebounds. Got to box out and stop giving these teams so many second chances to score.
I despise what Pimple is doing with AR. 17 minutes in 2 8 minute stints. We are going to lose him, because he has no defined role, no set people around him and no scheme. And then, when games get tougher in play-in (which is where we are headed), we will look for him to bail us. Fire Bacon Pimple Goblin Moron.
He has a role: 6th man/ backup PG. He's not playing well, you can't reward that by taking minutes away from guys who are playing better ball and making more contributions to winning. He's STILL averaging 32 minutes a game, that's plenty (4th on the team in MPG). Problem is currently he isn't good enough of a point guard to play point guard. We need Gabe back and that'll slot Austin as the backup two and as a secondary ball handler, which he's above average at.
Reward? That's a talk for a bench warmer. You do not punish your top 4 (and probably top 3) player for mistakes. This is a lousy talent and game management. Couldn't disagee more.
If you're not Bron or AD, then it's fair game. If you're not playing well enough, then yes tinkering needs to be done to maximize the groups and put players in more advantageous positions and for now, that's a backup role for Austin. He didn't have it tonight. Just like when DLO sat the entire 4th last week (?), it's situational based on the matchup and how our guys are playing. Austin was not shooting, defending, rebounding, or sheparding the offense as backup PG. Portland was in his lap all night. Not his night.
No it's not. That's not how you do these things. Imagine Fisher being benched for missing a couple of layups. Or Lamar for a TO. And I was ABSOLUTELY not OK with DLO being benched for the entire 4th back then either (have receipts)... You all praised Bron for narcissistically "trusting" Cam.... Why does he get the benefit of the doubt? Hard disagree once more. EDIT: bottom line, that's not a solution to the problem we are having, which is: 1. effort (and AR usually does fine here) 2. any damn schemes on offense or defense 3. normal lineups
Those teams had very clear identities. Having Phil Jackson also helps, I don't think that's fair on Darvin. Phil had 6 rings when he got here. We don't know who we are yet, you can't when there's been this many injuries right out of the gate. Until we find the right calibration on a healthy squad, you absolutely need to tinker to get you through and then when Vando and Gabe get back. Not every other game, we've had a couple seasons lately where we've had 40 different lineups in a season. That's different than giving something a 6-10 game look and if it's not working, adjust. AR usually does fine to good with effort. I think there's times it hasn't been there this season, more so as a starter but tonight is another case. Against Sac, his shot wasn't there but he was crashing the glass and racking up passes... to both teams, but he was finding other ways to stay involved. He simply wasn't tonight. Defensive scheme is AD. We're without two of our four best defenders, so I'm not expecting tons until they return. Offensive schemes aren't too dissimilar to most Bron teams over the years. I don't agree with all the lineups. Pairing Wood and Hayes is our worst possible combo and we won't quit it. It didn't murder us tonight like it has previously. I think Rui should be getting more of Prince's minutes. I want a healthier split between DLO and Gabe when he gets back, they weren't as balanced as I'd like. BUT Austin to the bench was the right call. Starting Cam, who's currently our second best defender and our only real perimeter defender was the right call.
I disagree with AR to the bench, but that's not the main point here. It's under 18 minutes of total play with crappy lineups that I have issue with. Considering it took this moron half a year to let AR play last year, I am not confident.
