Looks like he needs a month or two off. He's not yet built to handle year round playing when including international play. He looks flat.
He found some gas for 2.5 good games and now looks tired again. We can't afford to rest him with all our other injuries but we gotta figure something out
someone mentioned that he was kind of like ginobili (definitely can see it; poor man's version), and i don't see why we can't use him like that. question is who's the starter/placeholder. my vote, if he were healthy would be vando. AD lebron prince vando dlo vando guards the best perimeter player on the other team and hounds him for the first few minutes of each half. 20 super high energy minutes. reaves comes in and serves as primary playmaker in non-lebron minutes, flanked by dlo or (more often) gabe. rui and wood round out the primary 8 man rotation with hayes/christie/reddish as situational guys. reaves can still be part of the finishing crew (possibly with rui replacing prince in some circumstances).
I'm down with that at the moment. Definitely see the Manu's comparisons. On the PG talk we had recently, he's like Manu. Ok to handle at times and dish out when help comes with good effectiveness. Still not a PG
That would be a nice sized defensive lineup. I like it. I’ve been harping a bit on Prince but I’d like to see him move down to the two for defense purposes and shooting. I just feel like Reaves needs to ease back in because he looks very tired. See if he can recapture the mojo off the bench. And I agree this doesn’t preclude Reaves finishing games.
Kendrick Perkins goes off on Austin Reaves: "Lakers need a 3rd star. We thought it was gonna be Austin Reaves...We didn't say he was 'him', he said he was 'him'. Just shut the f*** up
yeah, perk's obviously full of it, but reaves didn't exactly run from the spotlight. and that's ok. he'll be fine. we should just all expect a) more from him and b) lots of scrutiny when he doesn't play well.
He is no longer an unknown..he will tested in all our games. He's considered to be an important player on the team now. It gets tougher once they start specifically targeting you.
As the 6th man, still was 3rd in minutes (Bron and AD each logged 1 additional minute). The different deployment of his minutes kept him with fresh legs in the 4th and he was able to ratchet up the effort when we needed him to late in the game. Looked like the right move for this one, let's keep it going and see how it plays out.
