No prizes for the team(s). Some extra $$ to spend on a MLE/vet minimum contract would have been nice, give the winner some flexibility. As is, only the players will get a little extra, which they probably don't even care about. Oh, well.
Hate when we sleepwalk through a game. This is another one of those losses that come back to haunt you at the end of the season when you’re trying to get a higher seed.
Definitely a they wanted more than the Lakers game. Worrisome is that the Lakers just don't have a lot of high energy guys. Dennis with his hustle and speed helped on a lot of loose balls last year but even if he was back the offensive boards would still be a problem
I’m not a fan of the effort of this team right now, we really need a guy like Vando back to show them what playing with energy looks like. Right now they take after the leader and that is ancient LeBron, so yeah..
The effort and energy is pathetic. Prince was the fall guy then he went out and nothing changed. I don't think inserting Wood changes that, definitely wouldn't have last night with this 2 boards. Vando will help, because he's a hustle/ energetic player. But we can't wait another couple months to play with energy. On this team, I think it's up to DLO. I think he needs to be featured heavily in the 1st Q. If he's cold then we're f***ed, but if he's hitting then he's the vibes guy. He's a showman and plays to the crowd. A run of a couple 3s and the team can feed off that.
I’m afraid lebron’s mindset is to sleepwalk through the regular season to keep himself and AD healthy and hopefully the whole team will build chemistry and be clicking by March. As much as I hate it, I don’t blame him at this stage in his career. The problem is that leader’s attitudes are often contagious. It sucks.
Honestly, the drop off seems to happen as soon as LeBron leaves the court. Even if he’s not scoring much his presence seems to be helping the team. When he sits the wheels come off.
Lol..it was crazy how they starting hitting every shot, and we couldn't buy a bucket, once he took a seat in the 1st quarter.
To this point. This should not be the case for the guy in year 21 with AD playing well and all the talent we have. I know we have injuries, but DAMN
i know you pin it on the schroder loss, but you also are not a fan of vando, iirc. to me, vando shifts some of this: yeah, lebron can't be bothered to box out or close out or whatever, and AD can't be bothered to get back in the paint to start possessions, so there's a tone set. it's early in the season, and it's hard to get lebron and AD to go whole hog or whatever, but we have a ten-game stretch of largely sub-par opponents whose who will look back at the end of the year smiling about beating us just one time. their PR team will put highlights of scoot henderson dropping a floater over AD to sell tickets for next year. we need to meet that energy and pick up some wins, and i'm pretty dubious after the orlando showing (if you'd call it that). this is a huge chunk of our easy schedule coming up, and dinking around and going .500 here will doom the rest of the year. you want to miss a box out? miss it on the road against milwaukee while we're sitting one of our stars and losing by 30. don't miss it to goga bitazde in a winnable game.
The slow starts and lackluster play at times (many times) suggests to me that coach may not have the locker room as much as we might think. Which I thought was his strong suit. Pretty early in the season to say but something to keep an eye on.
You would probably do a better job, so... who gives a s***. This moron is actively hurting the team and has been since the moment he arrived.
a team with 2 healthy HOF'ers that just went to the WCF with a revamped squad should not be sitting at .500 and barely looking at qualifying for the playoffs. That's some BS right there.
