We have the dumbest coach in the League. BOTH Pandemic P and Robotic Cornrows were on fire from behind the arc and Ham just lets them cast off to send it to OT. SMH.
We do needs to figure out how to get off to better starts in the first Q though. I feel Lebron is too passive never looking to score early. That would help.
Yeah, Wood has made a huge difference so far this early season. Said it before, but I'd start him and just go big. We struggled once again in the first quarter. We've been doing that every game. I'd like to start with more energy and size and that's what he's bringing.
I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when Hamster had THREE bigs out there at once! He must have had too much candy last night.
-I think Reaves got his thing back in the 2nd half. (What went right) He still isn't hitting from 3, but he will. I have zero doubts about that. -The Old Man was ultra-efficient. Hard to believe at his age he plays with this much fire and energy. (Things that went right.) -Christian Wood. That's all. (Things that went right) I've become a big fan after 5 measly games. -D-Lo: makes some bad passes but still scored like a muthah. (Positive) -AD: 27/10/3 with 1 steal and FIVE blocks. (Badass good) -We were missing Rui, Taurean, Gabe and of course Vando and STILL BEAT THE DAMNED CLIPPERS! -We went down 19 early and played like a**; turned it over and over and over and it was freakin' dismal. I almost turned it off. Glad I didn't. We've gotta quit with the lousy first quarters and first halfs. (What went wrong) -With 2:18 left in the 4th, Lebron hits AD for a dunk: Lakers up 9. What happened over the last 2:18 is the stuff of nightmares. It reminded me of us being up by 13 with 3:40 left against the damned C-Bags last year and we lost the game. It was December 14th, at Crypto, we were down 81-61, went on a 45-12 run, then blew the game and lost in OT, but who's counting? The last 2:18 tonight: granted: PG13 was insane. Even Brick hit a 3 in crunch for them. After being down by 19, going up 9 over the damned Clips, who've beaten us the last 10 straight or whatever: to blow this game would've been a major downer. (Blowing a 9 point lead with 2:18: thing that went wrong. To say the least.) Only 5 games in and this Laker win gave me the euphoria buzz, bigtime. Still pretty high off this one. 'Cuz it was the Clips, and they had both PG13 and Kawhi, and they both had, what 35? Man. This season is gonna be LIT!
They actually said he couldn’t do the things he’s doing.I don’t believe people actually watch players they just repeat a narrative
We won a game in which Kawhi and PG13 scored 73 pts on 59% from the field with 11 3's Everything else went right !
Yep, right: 73 from those two. Kawhi was nuts making shots against us in the 1st half. It got to the point I was startled when a shot didn't go in by him. Then he cooled off. We swarmed him. But PG13 (20 pts in the 4th), when in rhythm? He gets a pass and spots up, outside, up-down, perfect form, release: swish. Something about his fingerprint spot-up outside shot reminds me of Kobe. (Blasphemy?) It's reminiscent of the Mamba Man, okay? Or I perceive it that way... I should've been mad at Cam for the foul that was 3 FTs for PG13 very late, but I get why you'd contest him like that in that situation. We were shorthanded and got 2 of their main guys to foul out. PG and AR making all high-pressure FTs late. What nervous systems! I was watching Reddish's on-ball D: I thought it was way above average. Crunch: Brick, who had a very good game against us, slips and it leads to a steal and dunk. Then he's the defender on the 2-on-1 when AR lobs to Lebron for a monster dunk, which I'm glad Brick was slightly out of the way for, because the ball, after it went through, could've actually injured a guy. That play: steal, fast break, AR to Lebron dunking over Brick? I'd like to think it was emblematic of the tide turning re: us vs. Clips. They'd won 11 straight against us. Will Beardie make that much of a difference for them? I don't see it. AI algorithms do. We'll see.
The good We won against the Clippers Max got some run. Reaves has some of his mojo back. Wood played great. We out rebounded a team (mostly due to the weird 3 center lineup) The bad Turnovers Bad chuck shots Miscommunication
Yeah a few of us were saying bad guard play but it's Lebron's in game load managing. He had a couple early chucks and bad passes that gave Clippers momentum early.
feel like the Clips may have traded away a lot of their good depth for Harden. usually, it's one of those role guys that torch us, and none of their role players really stepped up yesterday.
OK. Let's not get crazy. Harden will scorch us much much harder if he just does what Batum did on offense. Defense is a different story.
it's the rebounding in particular that sticks out: Jokic's rebounding is the underrated reason of why he's able to stay on the floor despite slow feet on defense. He just gobbles up boards giving Denver extra possessions. The starters in addition to just having a lack of energy just get killed on the glass and 50/50 balls. Wood size and length turns a weakness into a strength and suddenly the Lakers are the ones with extra possessions and the defense is rewarded for getting a stop instead of just having to reset. Add in that he spaces the floor and moves the ball well, Lakers need to get a lot more minutes with AD/Wood/Lebron together or just AD/Wood
