Sucks the proverbial Big One …. all that summer skills work and momentum and now it’ll be back to square one trying to get all the timing and motor skills and conditioning back to the same level whenever he can finally safely start doing that.
Vando needs minutes and reps on the court with different personnel groups to figure out the right role for him on offense too. In Utah they got a little more creative and didn't just park him in the corner with the occasional flash to the middle like we did. Vando is a big part of the best version of this team, sounds like its going to be a while before we see it.
Exactly. Any time you are just stuck in one spot and hardly move it isn't easy to hit shots. Our lack of creativity on offense over the years leads to drops in shooting percentages more than the Laker jinx.
the good news is - this team is deep at Vando's position and there's zero reason that we should lose games that we're supposed to win without Vando. With that said, I really want Vando to be back sooner rather than later
Jarred should take all the time he needs. I'm confused as to why there should be some kind of rush involved here.
we've got three pretty concerning injuries in vando, gabe, and prince, imo. time to see if the depth can work in practice. though, in fairness, no amount of depth covers having all three of vando/rui/prince out. that's sort of cruel.
Fingers crossed that this season, it will be the role players, hit with the injuries, not Lebron and AD. We will still win at a decent clip if those two are good to go. We can load manage later.
Rui will be available soon, since he is in concussion protocol. Prince might be able to play very soon too. Not having Vando and now Gabe is still problematic, but then we get some defensive effort from Cam and Max too when necessary.
Wish they’d just say he will be out 6 to 8 weeks or something like that so fans wouldn’t have to decipher vague comments.
His two weeks should be up, around the 10th or so. I'm guessing that he will back on the court, after this current road trip.
