Can the clippers and nuggets just have an average shooting night against us instead of always being on fire? Not saying their wins are hot shooting flukes, or we couldn’t have played much better, but it’s almost impossible to beat a good team that also shoots really well on a given night.
Here's the facts to mull over. Not all bad .... just most. Denver if healthy is a BEAST no team has an answer for because of Jokic/Murray (best DUO in NBA) and their size plus talent both sides of the ball.
BTW .... ^^^ look who was inactive on Denver on a 2 way I presume. They still have size at the 5 in Jay Huff, who by now has more actual NBA experience in blowouts and such. Better than Thomas Bryant on defense at least.
i think boston has the exact right squad to beat them, as does milwaukee. we just don't match up great. also, they're basically 5 deep, imo. come playoff time, i'd wager one of those 5 is down, and it makes a HUGE difference. kcp buried us. he's their fifth starter. does braun just step into that role? i'm dubious. they're very strong, but very thin. they can (and likely will) be beaten.
You’re more aware of their roster than me but everyone they put in the game last night seemed like was big and played well.
they really played 4 guys off the bench. two of them played 11 and 12 minutes. reggie jackson topped them with 24 minutes. braun played 19. so if reggie jackson is your 6th man and braun is your 7th, i say you're 5 deep. how many western conference playoff teams don't have at least two (if not four) guys off the bench better than them?
Yeah teams ( Lakers did it three times) only managed to successfully defend their title 5 times out of 23 since 2000. Nuggets are unlikely to repeat
Still plenty of time left in the game but we’re continuing our tradition of making random bench guys look like all stars and I’m really annoyed by it.
we may win this, but the Suns are putting much more effort on D than us so far. worrying that we struggle against these severely undermanned Suns.
Won by the skin of our teeth to a Suns without Beal and Booker. Effort, energy, cohesion, getting after rebounds, preventing second chance or transition baskets all missing. Can't shoot. Supporting offense failed again. Ham's rotations are questionable.
For all of Dwight's latest shenanigans: there was a reason the Bubble team was so good. Team lacks a bruiser but also an energy guy who can get the team out of the doldrums - Dwight and Caruso filled that energy role and it's just lacking on this team so far. Maybe when Vando comes back he'll bring some of that and Hayes if he can earn some minutes?
Very lackluster performance for our first home game of the year after getting trounced by the champs. No Beal, no Booker. No excuse for the lack of effort and efficiency all around. Suns played better than us for three quarters. Squeaked out the win with Lebron turning back the clock at the end. But that was a pretty pathetic game for us overall. Unimpressed.
Took lebron and AD playing near 40 minutes each to beat kd and the merry minimums. We were supposed to have depth.
That's definitely what was frustrating me. Hopefully the depth will show once the new pieces have gotten acclimated but the drop off from the starters to the bench seems very glaring right now.
