Tarik is closer to 6'9 than 6'11. Given I am more of a lurker than poster, hopefully this post on page 300 will bring some luck!
I know you guys are trying to make good of a bad situation, but there's no debate between Tarik and Lopez. None at all. And list size is irrelevant. Tarik himself admits he's not close to 6'11".
Man I think CL has flat out died. 5-6 days now it's been down and large influx of new members here. Wonder if the bleep owner of that site just said eff it I'm done with it with no warning? Or if anyone coming from there got any kind of heads up as to what's going on? Maybe he's finally giving it the big renovation it's needed forever? LOLOL.... Doubt that, sure wouldn't put any money on it. Where's Puffy? He should know with his loyal service there, what is going on?
Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be too upset with Rondo at this point if we explained to him that he'll probably be coming off the bench.
Well, Biyombo is 6'9 too. I understand he's got crazy length, but straight up its still not going to cut it even against guys like Biff.
One of his contributions is supposed to be "help us add and keep LMA." That's significant. And he's not bad. Not as overpaid as some of these dudes.
I have no problem with Black. My problem is with the FO apparently having no plan. They keep trying to shoot for the moon. That is not a plan. Nobody wants to come here because we aren't 1 move away from a ring. We're not 2 moves away. We're several moves away and several steps behind so they need to put the pieces in place to be 1 or 2 moves away. Our best "move" this entire offseason was completely based on luck (aka Russell). Lets think about that for a second. They had an entire year to plan for this free agency, and the best and only thing that happened to us was very luckily getting that #2 pick. Please sign some solid role players that would at least entice stars to come play for us. Next year, Durant is the big name. I don't think there's any other big "stars". Maybe Horford.
Server hardware is being retired and replaced, tons of data to carry over from the old servers and that can take some time as there were millions of posts and thousands of users and CL isn't sure how much, if any, of the old data is being brought over. New server and site architecture are to be implemented (supposedly) prior to next season. Even as the admin of the site I couldn't actually do anything with it as CL never really wanted to change anything until now. Told him this would happen, especially with the terrible season ahead of us, once the change was made and here we are. phpBB isn't going to survive in the modern era of message boards. Too many other solutions that are far better, faster and with better features, but they cost money. Even with the offer to pay for these changes nothing was done. Just some shortsighted moves on CL's part. Huge user base, huge amount of pages indexed in google that still get traffic, huge amount of other sites linking to us giving us good google rankings, and even with the down season and older / ugly site software there were still people joining and posting. A few simple changes would have made a world of a difference and yet after all of the emails and time discussing these changes, none of them were implemented at all. Couple hundred dollars at most could have changed the entire future of that site and would have also started to turn a profit and none of these suggestions were met with action. There wasn't that much activity over the last few weeks so I doubt the new users here are because CL is down. Much more likely that they're here because of the free agency period and all of the rumors that are flying around. Everyone I know in real life that has found CL did it because they'd simply go to google and type in Lakers Trade Rumors and click one of the first links...though Lakersball.com isn't ranked for that or any of the similar search terms, so how they're actually finding the site is a mystery to me. Maybe Facebook shares or retweets. Oh and I just tried to check out LakersNation (terrible mistake) and even their funded site was down when I went to it, though it's back up now.
If it's a choice between Cousins or Rondo give me Rondo all day every day. At least he's shown he CAN screw his head on straight from time to time. I sincerely hope it isn't a choice like this.
Height can be a bit overrated when guys like Dwight at 6'9", Rodman at 6'7", and Ben Wallace at 6'9" were considered the best rebounders and defenders for quite a stretch in their respective eras. I don't see why height matters if a big can defend and rebound.
Why would we use a #2 pick on a PG, only to bring in a Rondo to ruin his brain? No thanks. if we drafted Okafor it would've made sense. In fact, drafting Okafor would've made sense. But that's a terrible moment from 2 weeks ago. We have our own terrible moment in Laker Land to deal with right now.
Hey lakerswiz. Great to hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to drop in and say what's going on. Well there goes my $100 I had down that wasn't happening. Looking forward to it coming back up. I still come over occasionally to read and post, but daily for some of my perfect situational smilies. Such as I would give you now a cold couple of mugs toasting for you're taking the time. Go Lakes!!
Ha, just randomly decided to check out the other Lakers forums because of the madness and randomly saw your post. Let's hope we snag one of these free agents. Might not make the playoffs this season even with one of them, but with cap space next year and Kobe potentially off the books, it would change our future.
