well, doubly hyped because vando appears to be a klutch guy. which is also probably why he got the 20% pay bump without much fuss.
What is Bev's problem? I mean, what did we do to insult him so much that he seems to have to take shots at us at every turn in the road?!?
Vando did the right thing with the new CBA in place . Plus a bad season for him ( injuries , Rui development ect) could happen and he's a 5-6 million a year type of player in the next summer .
i have THOUGHTS on this. i used to hate bev, and it's gone to kind of feeling sorry for him. being a "hater" isn't an identity, bro. how did free agency work out for you? i mean, i guess you were always overpaid in that someone with your "skills" should never have had an nba job in the first place, but vando's extension is as large as any contract you ever signed. it's like 70% of your career earnings. and you're telling him to turn it down because you think he might make like, 12 million more over the life of the deal. he's risking injury and has never signed a large deal before. he got a player option on the last year if he's actually underpaid like you suggest (he's not, based on current production). and you just just happened to be texting about the extension on the day of, huh? b*******. you heard through the agent/player grapevine it was happening, got jealous, and decided to try to piss in someone's cheerios because it's the only thing that brings you joy. you're mad the lakers didn't extend you and instead dumped your dead weight a**. you're jealous that vando has good years ahead of him and isn't hated by 95% of basketball fans. and that he gets to play for the lakers for 12 million per year while you vet min it in philly and/or podcast. then you have to tell everyone about it to try and poison the news cycle about it, too, as if it wasn't bad enough getting into a young player's ear about why he should be pissed off about being underpaid before the ink is even dry on the contract that secures his lifelong financial stability. this guy can't be forced into retirement soon enough. gtfo, loser.
Agree on all, except i never felt sorry for him. He's too much of a prick who never shuts up and thinks they're something when they're not. Who blames others instead of looking in the mirror; although, if I looked like that, I wouldn't look in the mirror much either. He's one of my least favorite humans to ever play basketball. He's dirty, his reputation let's him get away with stuff the refs should eject him for. And on a talent level, he's not good. If he was half as good as he thinks he is, we would have won 65 games and swept the post season... because of him. Vando seems too nice, but I would've told him to f*** right off and block him. That's a big celebratory day with real money for Vando. As I've said, think it's an overpay for today and will balance out later, but that's not the time to be the mosquitoe buzzing around. Say congrats and something like you're only going to make more on the next one. Instead of being the annoying, salty piss ant that he is. This will never happen, but for the sake of my dream, it will....I really wish Sixers would do a deadline deal of Harris + parts to GS for Dray. I'd love to see the battles for podcast space between Bev, Green and Dray. That's popcorn material.
Pat BevMo will always be my least favorite Laker of all time. I still can’t believe we were subjected to that. He’s just an incredibly unlikeable player and personality.
yeah, i think this is the part that annoys me the most. who does this? a******* and only a*******. that he then made sure we all got to hear about it makes it even worse. it's bad enough to try to rain on the dude's parade privately.
probably a better comparison than Odom, but if Vando could learn to be an offensive threat then Odom would be the better comparison.
Odom had mad skills though from an early age but agree with that upward type of impact if he had some effective decent offensive options and was consistent. Like when Lamar got consistent.
Other than the body types I just don't see the Odom and Vando comparisons. Odom was a point forward who could shoot and who had a decent post/migrane game. Vando has a decent handle but I havent' seen him flash any guard like initiation skills and his lack of offensive skills like shooting and mid range game is exactly why he's been dealt a few times now. The Rodman comparisons are more interesting: rodman also had that late growth spurt
Agreed with this, the only comparison to Odom is that they're both lefties and can both board. Other than that, they're completely different. Vando can handle the ball but nowhere near Odom's level.
odom basically played pg in college and probably could have scored more if he really wanted to. but he wasn't as athletic as vando. i made the rodman comparison back when we traded for him, and that one makes the most sense to me. he's obviously not rodman, but he's got similar motor and athleticism. he's actually a little more skilled offensively than rodman, but nowhere near the rebounder (who is? bill russell?).
actually, I thought the same thing after I posted my initial response. Vando does NOT have any of Odom's play making skills.
