Starting to be a signature play of his, starting with AD, per AD, in an early practice his rookie season. Finds himself switched on the biggest guys on the opponents' teams. They think HA!! I'll bump his 6'6" (not muscled noticeably up top) a** all the way down and score on him. Except with his base they don't move him much, if at all, and then when they try to turn toward the hoop he rips the ball out of their hands.
His teammates have to tremendously respect the banging against much bigger players he is willing to do and ALWAYS does. That bleep's gotta hurt!
With Austin's unsurprising meteoric rise to all-star level (only slowed by Ham's inexcusable reluctance to acknowledge his worth) and with MC ready to follow that same trajectory we have at least four or five solid line ups to choose from. I am not going to bore everyone by listing my two favorites again. I'm hoping that with AR blazing the trail it won't take Ham as long to recognize and acknowledge what he has in Max and Colin. I say acknowledge because Ham had to be able to see how Austin changed the games in such a positive way long before he upped his minutes. I think he was still caught up in the old thinking of pecking orders and paying your dues bs. Hopefully that is behind us. With the roster we have if our three stars stay relatively healthy, we roll right through this.
You mean the Darvin Ham, that said that Austin Reaves will be an All-Star, and NBA Champion soon, that He will be right there coaching? I mean where exactly are you getting this....Ham doesn't recognize Austin's worth narrative from? Seriously..you have been been pretty relentlessly pushing that take lately.
Length of time it took to give him the “more” minutes and finally start him. Before saying all that. If he recognized it earlier he didn’t do anything about it in those regards until much later in the season.
LOL at that guy’s take like that isn’t one of AR’s strengths in being able to switch up a size or so and not get moved or scored on easily. As good as any of these other guys he works hard at that stuff.
I think it's clear he's at his best when he has the ball in his hands more and helps with initiating. Still wonder about his abilities as a bring up the ball PG though.
pina's a HUGE laker hater. check, basically, everything he's ever written. i think he even tried to bash the russ trade when it happened, claiming the lakers were still going to miss the playoffs, etc. then he slunk into a very deep hole for several months. i think it's funny how happy so many americans are that team usa lost simply because they couldn't handle that reaves was a big part of a team that was having success. oh, and teams won't post up reaves. they might go at him in isolation if we put him on star sgs (or, heaven forbid, pgs).
