I feel grossly used in this comparison. How out of left field is that?

the stojakovic airball perfectly sums up how the kings blew chance after chance in that series. one of the best 3 pt shooters in the league, wide open, and he missed it as badly as i've ever seen a 3 pointer missed. i remember watching this live and thinking that was it, series over when he got the ball

Russell Westbrick is insulted with the work in that specific specialty he put in here for 1 2/3 seasons as a Laker. For once I have to take his side with the legitimate case he makes.

Bill Simmons really wanted us to lose AR to the Spurs .

To be fair to the Spurs, we would have matched, so what's the point for them?

the laker-hating bloggers just wanted us to have to pay 40 per for reaves on the back end of the contract and figured that teams were also run by hater bloggers instead of professionals.

Still... we are allowed to gloat a little. AR's gonna get his bag + whatever he didn't get from the Spurs he will cover with LA exposure. Probably quite easily.

And we get to pay one of the best combo guards (see @abeer3 what I am giving you here) in the league less than Dillon Effing Brooks.:Laugh:

us being able to gloat is why bill is upset--not, as he'd have you believe, because he just thinks it's an affront to basketball management.

if reaves was a C bag (omg, they'd already have erected a statue, among other things), he'd be lauding the shrewd C Bags management for scaring away suitors.

I probably would have made the offer if I was running the Spurs. There’s some value in forcing us to pay Reaves $30 million plus in a few years, when the Spurs are theoretically a contender if Wemby is what they says he is. On the off chance we were bluffing, now they have Reaves who fits well with their other guys. Worst case they tie up cap space for like 24 hours, which they used to take on guys like Osman and Bullock. Pretty sure those deals could have waited 24 hours.

Poor strippers. They're the ones really taking the L here.

maybe you just value the draft capital you get for renting space (and a player like osman, who may still have some potential) and future financial flexibility over having reaves, which, in the short-term, does little for SA.

you can't put screwing the lakers ahead of your own interests. unless you're a blogger pretending to run a team.

Tie up more cap space - the hard apron is going to make it more difficult for teams. Simmons point is that it would be a win win for the Spurs either way.
I just don't think the Spurs expect to try to win for a another 2-3 years and by that time Lebron will be gone so they don't see the lakers as threat on the timeline they have with Wemby

Idk man, I think having Reaves right now would be huge for them. I think Vassell and Sochan are pretty legit, Reaves/Vassell/Sochan/Wemby is a really nice young nucleus that could do some damage very soon.

Regardless, they didn't sign him to an offer and I'm glad they didn't. If I was a Spurs fan I'd be a little disappointed. It is funny to see a C Bags fan mad about it.

He’s barbecue chicken. He was done when he was here LAST time before we traded him, that’s a waste of a roster spot. Hell I’d rather have Wenyen than McGee, he plays hard all the time and is young and athletic still.

McGee would fill the role Dudley had on our championship run team. If we had a better back up at center I would be okay with McGee for locker room chemistry but I still don't trust Hayes yet.
