I’m gonna hold my tongue on this one since I got an earful from sirron with my quip on him needing to buy an extra seat for his other butt cheek but that’s what he gets for being the number 1 customer of their chain of cupcake shopsoops
***says he will hold tongue*** ***proceeds not to hold tongue*** you are super lean sir. I competed in Cross Country and did triathlons at that weight. but I wanted to see what it was like being 260 or +100 lbs over the high school competitive weight. Turns out I can’t run as fast or far, so I decided to drop some of it. Until then, 1 seat is just fine @KareemtheGreat33 , but some seats are less comfortable than others. I’m actually super great about 210. Very large muscles for my frame
We’re going to be a dangerous team because everyone here last year save maybe Bron and AD will be better. Including DLO out of necessity. Can you imagine Reaves after FIBA competition and playing for Kerr? Christie! Our NEW guys under Handy and the staff. So damn deep it’s crazy.
Impressed that he seems to be putting in more work as a Lakers than he did as a Wizard Was worried that Rui was going to go the way of Ariza and TIm Thomas's of the world and just put in the really big effort before the bag and not after
He's said flat out he loves it here .... after getting here and the playoffs was probably the best time of his basketball career to date .... and am sure he doesn't want to disappoint after getting the contract. Plus Handy was in his ear the first week and telling the press Rui "reminded" him of when he coached Leonard in Toronto. So I think the plan is building on that and having us a healthy, non load managing Kawhi Lite .... who has a great personality in huge contrast to Snake.
lol, i somehow missed this. i also think that he's young enough and his contract isn't so large as to be a major deterrent to improvement--i'm sure handy's in his ear about getting a max next time around. go for it, bro!
How's he going to bang with Jokic if he's skinnier now .... He and Jared and Phil must be back from their mini world tour.
lol, that was going to be short-lived anyway. but being able to play some 3 and some 5 depending on matchups is great, and i think mobility is more important than bulk for rui. he's strong enough for the game that suits him best.
It makes a ton of sense for Rui to slim down since his body was previously better suited to play power forward. Although Rui has the ability to play both positions, there is much more opportunity for him a the three. With Lebron all but cemented in as a power forward for the remainder of his career, Rui would not have an opportunity to be the team's starting power forward. Additionally, the Lakers recently signed a back up power forward in Taurean Prince, and the still have Vanderbilt who is a power forward on offense and a small forward on defense. However, the starting small forward position is up for grabs. It would seem that Rui would be the favorite to start at the 3. Factors involved are the his size advantage and sample size over Max, having a much better offensive game than Vanderbilt, and also the recent contract that he signed.
