It's tough when everyone knows you're going to cave but you don't want to look like a complete doormat (other GMs are flying overhead like vultures) and there's limited combinations with these moves. You're right, you're trying to champion an end of the bench player who before these rumors 75% of the casual NBA fans have never heard of and I'll bet 85% of the casual NBA fans couldn't pick either out of a lineup if you blended them into a D-League team's roster.

It let's the GM say, "see! We kept Mann" or "because we gave up Mann, we were able to take a pick swap out of the trade."

Next you're going to start hearing teams refuse to give up the rights to some random Euro they drafted 10 years ago who never came over. It's all very laughable posturing.

right. if you're a team devoid of assets trying to get my allstar, you better at least offer up every. single. asset. i'd walk on principle, tbh.

i always thought pritchard cut off his nose to spite his face when he didn't take our PG offer, but i understood why he was pissed. and at least in our case we were offering good young players who had already shown something and were on rookie deals. these miami and clippers offers...ick...

What I don't get is why any team would want to blow up their assets for Harden at this point!?! I could see the temptation back when he was in Houston averaging 35ppg and getting every whistle that had ever been blown. But those days are over. Meanwhile he torpedoed the Nets and has now torpedoed the Sixers. It's like paying to have a specialist come in and destroy your team. I don't get the appeal.

Yeah. I’m curious what an investigation will turn up as well. I’ve got to think that’s exactly what the issue is here. Can’t see even a guy like Harden going this level of scorched earth if money isn’t invoy

*cue movie trailer voice* In a world...where 2006 Wesley Snipes isn't enough. Stakes are raised! Those toilets won't flush themselves. And hundreds of earnest strippers are trying to work there way through med school. You call Harden. James Harden. Starring in DETONATOR 2!!!

COMING TO LA...FALL 2023 *end trailer*

For Ballmer, it's butts in seats to open the Toilet Bowl. Harden is still a big (pun intended) name. A banner in front with Kawhi, PG, Russ, and Beard draws attention. Plus they need more national TV coverage. They're what? 3 years without a Christmas game?

Looks like he doesn't really need the fat suit to look out of shape
(unless he's already starting to wear one!)

Common sense would say this is a "shopped" image, but then THIS one below in the same time frame (?) seems to lend credence that it might be true, for whatever games this clown plays with management of the teams he's been on??

If the Lakers were to trade for BeerdoMcFloppington, I would be out.

ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski shared information about the situation around point guard James Harden and Philadelphia.
He explained that Harden activated the option because he knew that he would not receive money "close to the maximum rate." The 76ers had no interest in trading the point guard because they never got a decent offer. When President Daryl Morey called the Clippers and said there would be no deal, Harden made the decision to issue a statement.

Read the article, it’s worth it, trust me.

As for Harden, he’s a f****** clown. Constantly asking for trades, never happy where he is. You sign a contract in the NBA, you play it out. If you don’t want to do that, then sign only 1 year deals so you can go somewhere new every season. He won’t do that though, because he wants to pick his teams AND get max money and if they don’t have a max slot they can just trade for him. This new generation is the most entitled, spoiled and in Harden’s case, lazy, that I’ve ever seen. Yes, Kobe demanded a trade in his day, but it was after years of carrying a crap roster and getting nowhere, wasting his prime. Harden goes to stacked teams and still can’t win.

Grumble, grumble, mumble, I hate Harden and the thought of who we might have to give up ..... but OK will do. And report back. Sir .... Yes Sir!

    :Beertoast2:

Is it a podcast or an article? Neither are popping up first click. Pod is on James and Durant, and the article "seems" to just be Woj reiterating what's going on?
