Heck, we are retiring with a million in cash and 100,000+ a year in retirement income. If the government were telling us our net worth, it would be around 2-3 million. That ain't sh*t folks!! In CA, it is downright poor. We are moving and we expect to be in the lower middle class ranks but at least we won't have a mortgage because that is what we will use our cash for. When I think about this, 20 years ago I would have thought we would be rich to have this. Nowadays, it is just a drop in the bucket. So, having 15 times that is not an insane amount of money. Having a couple of hundred times that, you can play around a lot, but even that is not insanity money.
I hear ya- we are moving as well, but not until next summer. My kids have zero opportunity here in San Diego, or CA for that matter, to afford a decent life. I can finally get my boat, a new home and be paying half of what I’m paying now for my mortgage.
my dad loved la but moved us from there when i was 7 for similar reasons. he said we went from being basically broke to very comfortable overnight just by moving to dallas. the tiny house i grew up in in huntington beach just went for a million+. you can fit like three of them in the house i live in currently, which i bought for under 20% of that cost.
my dad always said i was actually better at baseball than basketball; i just found it boring. i liked pitching, but i would end up being too small for that, too. too much waiting around in baseball, reaction instead of action. so i think i still would have played basketball. would have beaten spending those afternoons on the playgrounds in texas in 100+ degrees for three or four hours! was that halliburton throwing the pass? those two should become pals... banchero made several very nice plays in that mix. the screen and handoff for the jumper, a nice reset on a pick and roll, and then a smooth iso move and finish.
Yo … @abeer3 …. Austin “wants” to play the point. Says he’s played it his whole life. I’m with Zen and Toklat. Make the 3rd best player on the team happy and let him play the point! He’s working on his weaknesses and says he thinks he can play it at this level. You know it’s going to happen with or without you … right?
now I think DLO is staying. He just might not be finishing unless he experiences some personal growth in big moments and gets in the gym.
he can call himself whatever he wants; i'm guessing he won't be guarding the opposing primary ballhandler nor taking the inbounds pass in the backcourt with any real frequency.
Greece and Milwaukee superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will not play in the 2023 World Cup. The 28-year-old basketball player announced this on social networks. “After months of work and numerous meetings with the medical staff, it became clear that I was not ready to perform at the level that the World Cup requires from players. I am extremely disappointed with this outcome, but it was the decision of the medical staff. ...
