something that used to seem so clear has become so cloudy, it's pretty ridiculous. Let's ask Kyrie what he thinks of it all. Now there's a guy that would be gifable
UGGH!! We’ve reached the no news and nothing much to even talk about basketball “doldrums” part of the off season.
I predict Lebron will be our 4th best player this year. He gets 2 nagging injuries, and not even trips to Miami keeps him on the floor. we still win 55-57 games and try to get him ready for the 2nd round after sitting out the last 50 games of the season discuss
lol, i predict lebron and AD both miss 20+ games, which means we probably win about 45 games (instead of the 55 we should get in theory) and finish 6th or 7th in the west. but just as last year, if we're healthy in the playoffs, we will once again have a puncher's chance. also, this thread will be incredibly busy later, so we should enjoy the silence for now!
I see us landing at around 50 wins for similar reasons. The main thing is just avoiding the play in and not digging an early season hole for ourselves.
The way it started out with the “No way can Castleton contribute this year even off the bench …. he needs at least one or more years in G-League first” contingent …. it looked like that might be another one. Right up until he proves them wrong at least, but there’s already been “backsliding” on that from most or all.
The backsliders had to slide back on Austin and now they will have to do the same for Max and Colin. A lot of backsliding going on around here. The ceiling setters, doomsayers and negative Nancies are too afraid to hope for good things. We might get disappointed...lol. We have so many good young guys it is going to be hard for them all to get enough minutes to show out, but the vets had better beware. This philosophy of going after two-way versatile players that can do it all is going to make us an upper level/contender every year and not so dependent on superstars. You need superstars to win championships in most cases but hopefully we won't fall off a cliff if we have to go without one or the other for short times. I'm too optimistic for this thread. I'm leaving...lol.
Can't wait for the Ham road show of press conferences Spoiler: questionable description ball washing Wood, like he did Russ prior to last season .....which will "likely" necessitate undeserved minutes for him. Unless the "leopard" changes his spots and is no longer a turnstile on defense. Hell, Russ could put up points too but didn't outweigh the damage he did. And ..... here we go!! To quote a departed member, "Wheee!!!" #MindisOpenMindisOpen
well, wood better leave here on good terms...because nobody's going to believe that a third straight team wronged him in some way.
well, he hasn't matured enough to keep his mouth shut, so there is zero reason to think he's changed Hopefully we have a better environment for him to succeed in, but you don't get over your victim mentality overnight.
Not really sure who on this team is supposed to be the primary defender to take on Jokic or Murray 1v1. This team is definitely much improved than last year IMO but playoffs are all about matchups/ Christie seems like he's got the right size and mentality to develop into someone you can put on Murray but he's a second year guy who is hasn't gotten many minutes Lebron seems the best guy to put on Jokic still - when Lebron wasn't gassed a bit scary as he seemed the best 1v1 defender vs both Jokic and Murray. Maybe Wood can allow AD to play Jokic 1v1 and the Lakers still will have rim protection.
BUMP------ Well the new season is upon us and we have full season of WMC ahead of us. The question for many fans of the purple and gold is which thread will get more love the WMC or the Optimism? As the creator of WMC I hope this tread gets minimal action but I am realistic and, well, fans. So here it is the beast that is WMC. Let us whine... Let us moan..... Let us complain.... For we are fans of the greatest NBA franchise and we demand another damn title! Here's to the new season complainers. What you got?
