He's a content creator, it's part of it. I'm sure he heard or read something in Reddit. Maybe Mr.Rambis from here told him. There's no harm, he's doing his job. I follow him and never thought he was connected to any player, especially the relevant ones. For example, Windy is clearly Lebron's guy and when he says something it's because it was LeBron saying. I just don't think he's that kind of guy

    Completely agree with Helljumper

That’s incredibly dismissive of Trevor’s career, he was just at Vegas summer league, he has one of the most prominent Laker podcasts/sites out there, and you don’t think he could have heard things there? You don’t think fellow media members like ones he frequently has on the show like Jovan Buha wouldn’t talk to him? He also never claims to be an insider, so if he shares something he heard I take his word for it, he never pretends to have the inside scoop, he’s not someone who makes stuff up for clicks.

yeah, i don't know much about lane, i'm just going on the delivery in the clip. that doesn't sound like someone who's making something up to get attention. it sounds like someone who feels very confident in the information they heard.

but do we know that they're "strongly pursuing". i feel like they're waiting to see who the best center that will take their vet min is, and wood is one of the names on the list. and i fully believe that someone (or more than someone) has warned them about it.

the problem is there's just not a lot left out there. i'm not going to pitch a fit if we sign wood. i'll hope he can finally get it together and contribute to winning. but i'm not going to be upset in the least if he lands elsewhere and we just nab a big body to fill out the roster. we should have a enough firepower on offense, imo.

Yeah, if there's a time for these guys who don't usually have (or at least report) info to have info, it's now. Now the info might be dated, but everyone was together in Vegas. There was a media only party/dinner that had everyone from Irwin to Shams and everyone in-between. These guys who do this for a living are mostly cordial to friends, even ones covering other teams. Most have text threads or somehow keep on communication with fellow people covering the same team. Put them all in a room together for the night and you think they're talking about fly fishing in Montana?

Well sure, that’s the other element lol. We may not even be “strongly pursuing”, he’s just one of the few remaining options that we’re waiting on.

I guess to me it seems like a lot of you ARE pre-emptively pitching a fit at the idea of signing Wood. And I don’t get all the uproar against who we’d be signing for the 14th roster spot. I don’t know why we’re reading into rumors about his negotiation process and using them to psychoanalyze him. Or emphasizing the concerns around him as if the FO isn’t already calculating all this.

Like respectfully it seems like a lot of you are more emotionally invested AGAINST signing Wood, than the emotional investment of us who are advocating FOR signing Wood.

The only one who has been really adamant in pushing for Wood and maybe making some extreme arguments … seems to be Slick. So it almost feels like some of you are digging your heels in and pushing back so much against the idea of Wood because y’all don’t like Slick lol

And then this one was yesterday, but I had reached my max Dray posts for one day so i figured I'd hold on to it until his next scorched earth comment. Didn't think it'd be less than 24 hours

Is he trying to force his way out of GS? Or did the pay day just really turn up the volume on the not give a f*** meter?

soooooooooooooo glad we didn't end up with draymond. he's not worth the hassle at this point in his career. i bet gs had some HEATED internal meetings about his contract.

It's tough. I'm sure they're done with him and didn't want to give him that $ but Kerr, Klay and most importantly Steph are his biggest supporters. Can't go against all 3 of them on this.

    Elsewhere...

Sounds like he's just going to another Euro club but if he wanted to come back to the NBA...Mirotic > Wood.

Got the Big Head for one thing. Hang around and be buddies with LeBron and that just might help that tendency along. :D I know all these guys got big egos ….. but some are at just another level.

I always like Mirotic and his numbers were good. I thought he played well with AD in NOP and he's got the right size and skillset for what the Lakers would want similar to Wood.

Kind of irritating watching him it always seemed to me that he should be even better and then he ran away to Europe.
The Bucks game with Portis if the Lakers get Mirotic would be entertaining

guess i view mirotic like jamychal. good, interesting players, but we need another 5, not a 4 who plays more like a slow 3.

at least wood can credibly play backup 5 (don't love it, but i can squint).

if we're not bringing back wenyen (why not, really?), i'm good with thompson, as he is just something different than what we currently have on the roster. bang with the big uglies, set some screens, dish out some fouls. we've got plenty of guys to launch jumpers off the dribble.

On that same pod, he said he thinks Paul will unlock Kuminga cause "he's good with young players".

It looks he tore his Achilles before this past season. If I trusted he wanted something to prove I would give him a look but after that no way he takes the risk.

Wenyen and Jackson Hayes are duplicative and I bet there was promise to at least give him a fair shot. Pelinka clearly stating he wanted to go a different archetype for another big goes along with that

You forgot to add one important ingredient when it comes to loose lips: alcohol.
I’m sure not every media member partakes, but then again, they were in Vegas.

Don't agree with you on this one JSM. Dray kept it real. He was honest. Nowadays political correctness is such a thing that most celebrities can't really say nothing and all they say is filtered by PR professionals. I definitely appreciate how Dray is on that regard.

What he said is that he wouldn't backtrack what he said before, which makes sense. He also said he would talk with CP. He also said (but media cut it) that CP is top 5 most IQ players all time. That he is a winner and like him, does everything he can to win, to which Dray says he relates to. That these type of guys are not liked by opponents like Dray feels is not liked by opponents. And that he looks forward to play with him and experience everything he will bring to the organization.

I honestly can't see anything wrong with that. I appreciate unfiltered, raw and honest takes from players and think in this case I would say the same if I was in the same situation

He could backtrack it, ignore it, pretend he didn't say it or try to sugar coat it. He didn't and I think that's cool

Agree with you that we need a 5 more than a 4.

I love Gabriel and shared it in his thread after hearing his history. Would have him on 15th team spot. But he's really unskilled and you know he will give you effort and energy but I think we would like to have a bit more skill and strength as we don't know if Hayes will pan out and know AD will miss some games

    TT is a
    mindfuck
for me. He has been looked as washed since his late 30s for no reason. He's my guy too
