I would not trade Vando for Christian Wood. In fact I'd rather sign Biyombo or TT over him as a feel he could be a cancer in the locker room. I'm just not as high on Vando as everyone else.

No way I trade Vando for Wood. I don’t think Vando is this loser player that fans make him out to be. His energy in games really helps us out.

Also despite Vando's limitations and Wood's "upside", in terms of locker room fit I think swapping the two would probably negate any on court positives.

I'm not in favor of rostering Wood (if there's any other option left), so there is a ZERO% chance I'm willing to give up any assets to get him. Not even the rights to some Euro that we still have from 2014.

Makes sense the agent is trying to work with the Mavs to see if there's any S&Ts out there. Irwin said Wood's agent didn't think he was a minimum player, so this is just another potential avenue for them to get him closer to what he thinks he's worth.

Ham would be loathe to play him with his crappy defense …. anyway.

He'll be listed as the PG but Booker will be the one handling/distributing the ball most. He's not Harden or Ginobili level of playmaking from the SG position, but he's good at it. The Beal trade was met with some snickers but I'm scared of that team. I think we're better, but thats an impossible offense to guard.

I'm not. They are relying on two injury riddled players to stay healthy. And they need at least 60% of their minimum signings to hit.

Lot of gambling and they have Vogel very little defense to work with. Maybe he will have a Mike Brown like transformation from defensive guru to offensive wizard. Doubtful though.

suns are a scary team for sure

i thought their lack of a bench would be their downfall but they went out and brought in some nice bench pieces. the big question is whether or not KD and beal can stay healthy. i certainly have my doubts about beal. that guy is more injury prone than AD

…slow news period. This is an easy no. I just see no reason to trade for Wood.

Some fans have a bad taste in their mouths based on how we lost. While it sucks to get swept, the reality of us being put together at the deadline and having to dig out of a hole to make the play in finally caught up with us.

This is a good team and I think everyone will see that again pretty quickly once the season starts. A lot of the more ridiculous trade ideas will go away and we will see what legit tweaks need to be made to help us win a title.

Here's the thing though, they signed minimum players and got their pick of the litter while everyone else was signing higher tiered players. Most of those guys have to exceed their contract for the team to make it. The only value they got was Gordon. There are no other paycuts or ring chasers and they were viewed as minimum level talent by the league.

    this.

so the champs kicked our butts (though...not really...). that was a team built on the fly with lebron clearly injured during the playoffs. we played at a 60-win clip post-westphyllis, and i expect similar to start the year. and public enemy #1 (vando) was a big part of that, btw, regardless of whether he got schemed out as the playoffs went on. you still have to get there and not be playing for your lives for 2 full months PRIOR to the playoffs.

Indeed, Vando is an extremely valuable regular season weapon to have. Also useful in the right playoff matchups. Even if he got played out of the series for example, he did this first

Right. This year we shouldn’t have to dig ourselves out of huge whole. That’s going to make a world of difference.

we will also have some continuity for the first time in a while.

Honestly think everyone should feel good about the team and be optimistic heading into the season.

    Yup.
It absolutely does not matter if his agent thinks Wood is not a minimum player. It only matters if GMs around the League do.
