I think its going to be Miami eventually and this is all just PR posturing. Jacquez can't even be traded for a while anyway, so at this point I'm assuming the deal is announced soon after that lifts. I don't think Miami's maximum offer is incredible, but its definitely not garbage.

    Herro
    Lowry expiring
    Jovic
    Jacquez
2028 Heat FRP, 2030 Heat FRP
2024 Heat FRP (if Heat can convince Heat to change protections on Heat 2025 FRP)

We do this thing where first round picks have a lot of value, but a player recently selected in the first round does not even if they've barely had a chance to show anything yet. That offer is essentially Herro (a good player), expiring salary filler and 5 FRPs. Its not the Gobert offer, but everyone agreed that was stupid and teams are not treating that as representative of the market. Its not the Durant offer, but Lillard is not as good as Durant. Its not the AD offer, but Lillard is not as good or as young as AD is/was. Its not the PG offer, but trading for Dame doesn't also seal them acquiring an even more elite player. Its not the Mitchell offer, but Lillard is 33 not 25.

I honestly think that maximum Miami offer is about the right value for a 33 year old Lillard.

Portland used to be a nice place to live before antifa got hold of it, but their kind sort of have control of the whole west coast at this point, so not sure it makes too much of a difference. I used to love Portland, all the way to Seattle. Northwest used to be pretty awesome. But you all seem to think that the Lakers are every players dream destination, so why not Portland being on someone's list of good places to go? Same as LA, too many homeless, too much violence, too expensive to own a home and your leaders are discouraging you from chasing your dreams.

McMenamin allegedly said this on NBA Today. I haven’t seen the clip or seen this aggregated elsewhere outside of this tweet, so take with a grain of salt

Yeah Morris and Green would be abysmal signings IMO. We shouldn’t be dead set on a “stretch 5” to the point where we settle for washed/out of position players in that role. At that point just give up on your fantasy of a stretch 5 and pivot your philosophy. Would hurt even moreso to settle for Green or Morris knowing that we likely could have just kept Bamba for the minimum.

I don’t really buy that they are seriously in consideration though. And for what it’s worth, the Reddit mod who broke some news about Bruce Brown/Taurean Prince/Gabe Vincent before it went mainstream had this to say about this report.

I’m a huge wood doubter, much to slick’s chagrin. But he’s still among our top options. I prefer biyombo, but none of the other names I’ve seen.

No perfect choice. Wood vs Biyombo vs The Punisher.

Don't care which way we go, none of them are difference makers. The one who could give the Joker the most problems would be the one to get.

I think I prefer Christian Wood right now. I mean, yes he hasn’t stuck wherever he’s gone, but we have a recent history of players like that showing out when brought here. He put up 17/10, 17/7 the last couple years, for the minimum that’s a lot of production and he would fit well next to AD. If it doesn’t work, it was a minimum deal, no harm done. I’m not getting my hopes up though, our minimum is right there if he wants it, I could see him waiting on Miami and going there. I’d also be happy with Biyombo, but after that the pool drops off a cliff with available talent at C, we’d probably be best off bringing back Wenyen or Thompson.

In theory, Wood's defensive issues could be masked if he is in there with defensive players, such as AD, Vanderbilt, and Max. Problem is, Lakers would probably have to promise him a starting job in order for him to sign for the minimum. I would not feel super comfortable with him in a lineup that has multiple defensive shortcomings, such as Russell defending ones, and Lebron defending threes. However, maybe if Christie wins the starting two-guard job, it would make more sense. Not sure if the Lakers also have some sort of wink-wink with Dlo, but Max looks like he moves his feet really well, and would at the least, not perform any worse than Dlo on the defensive end against point guards. Additionally, Reaves could handle the ball on the offensive end, with no problem. Especially if he has an additional ball handler in Lebron. No need for a third ball handler in Dlo.

Dang..you are moving D'Angelo and Gabe to the bench to accommodate Max? No..I don't think that's the plan. Wood signing with us ,would present a dilemma of sorts though, I agree with that for sure. I think he would fit great next to AD. You absolutely can't afford to leave him, and double AD with another guy with size.

However now we'd have a gang of guys, that can swing between 3/4. The Kang is still the best one, it would be interesting to see how Darvin handles that "problem ".

LT actually had a great idea, bring Lebron off the bench. Lol..I just don't see Lebron going for it though.

He's right though. We've asked everyone to not make political posts, and you have been asked more than a few times to do so. If you just have to post something political, please find another outlet than this one to do so. I'm not sure why this site rule is so difficult for you to honor.

Ha..if we snagged Christian, this would be one of the most talented, and deep teams that we've ever had IMO. All young guys, and the best over the hill guy of All time. Lebron goes out, with a pack of young Wolves at his back! Come on man..this team would be loaded.

well, people are bagging on Portland and if they are gonna go there, they should realize that it ain't so grand in tinsel town either. Has to do with sports. I will try harder.
