We'll see I guess. I already saw a report a couple of hours after I posted this that the Heat have already offered Herro / Robinson / Draft picks. Pretty much what I suggested minus Jovic. I think Dame is still worth it. He had his best season ever this year. He is still in the latter end of his prime at 32. He is one of the two best shooters in the league, and is a stone cold killer. If the Heat can make Dame / Butler / Bam happen that's pretty lethal.

Ooh, hadn’t considered the idea of S&Ting Beasley. That would probably be the ideal scenario if you can trade him for a big man who makes around $5-7M

Balances the roster out while maintaining another trade chip

I'm not saying Dame isn't worth it, I just think he has built up so much cache with that franchise that they won't burn him on the way out asking for millions of draft picks. Whether it's Lowry or Herro is probably a fair point and one I don't think Miami will worry about too much, it'll be Lowry and an extra first or Herro without that extra first.

With Dame to Miami in the works, it could have helped with a trade if this was decided a day earlier.
Portland could have worked a S&T including Max Strus.

A package of Herro/Strus/Martin and draft picks would be better than whatever Portland ends up with now.

I don’t think we have Bamba’s bird rights actually since we waived him.

Beasley’s situation is different because we didn’t actually waive him, just didn’t pick up his team option. So we still have his bird rights.

Great pickup, that's spot on. We can bring back Beasley or Lonnie. There's an intriguing backup SG spot that could be available if one of them comes back, it would be a fight against Max Christie.

I also wouldn't mind a S&T for another big with Beasley.

I think Vincent was Toronto's second option after FVV for that money. So if we couldn't get Vincent, I imagine we would have probably retained Dennis. To me they're similar level players, DS is a slightly better defender and driver of the ball, Vincent is bigger and a better shooter.

I feel bad for Charlotte (and some other small/crappy teams). You're basicly in a lose/lose situation.

What's our hardcap number for using the MLE on Vincent? If we can go all the way to 172M, We could still possibly S&T Beasley or Lonnie, for say Christian Wood correct?

cant see this happening, but if it happens we'll be right in the top tier of championship favorites.

I am actually very curious how that situation played out.

I almost wonder if we COULD have actually retained Dennis for cheaper. Like if we hadn’t signed Vincent, then once FVV made his decision, Toronto likely would have thrown their full MLE at Vincent. At that point, I’m not sure how many other teams would have needed a PG enough to throw the full MLE at Dennis.

So in a way, by beating Toronto to their first choice and increasing their desperation, we ended up helping Dennis get a bigger payday.

It’s 172.3m. We’re playing with about 8.5m left to that figure.

I'm a Dennis fan, but he really struggled in the Playoffs offensively due to lack of size and poor shooting. I think our playoff chances increase slightly with Vincent if he keeps up the level next year.

Hey..8M is a good fall back for Wood if he doesn't get a better offer in Free Agency. I'm not sure about the Mavericks cap situation though.

Last time I checked, you can't add players to S&T
It's 24h after the offer sheet is signed, so July 6. Meaning the team making the offer couldn't make other deals with that money until then

On Beasley S&T, for McGee and a second?

8.5M.That's a nice piece of change, theoretically, we could throw in Maxwell Lewis and get it up to 10M.
