    I guess, not many teams wanted to pay Beal all this $$$
    Pau to the Lakers was still a much better deal... and we didn't have that daddy/son connection Beal and Suns just pulled ;)

    Also, Durant is the softest superstar I’ve ever seen. He’s not happy unless he’s surrounded by all-stars.

    Also, gotta laugh at these supermax contracts. They supposed to help teams... yeah, right LOL.
    If i was a team in a smaller market, i would never try to keep my "star" player that way. There are like 7-10 players in the entire league that deserve this kind of money.

    What a ridiculous trade: not even a first rounder for Beal?
    Yeah the no trade hurts Wiz's leverage but guess what just don't trade him then and hold off. No balls

    Eh, yeah that’s a terrible haul for Washington, but I think it makes sense given the no trade clause and the limited suitors who would actually want to take on his contract. Washington should have never given him that contract to start with, but at this point if I’m a new GM of Washington I would want to rip off the bandaid and get him off my books as soon as possible too

    Overall I think this trade increases the chances of us getting CP3 for the minimum, and meanwhile I’m not scared of the Suns who are going to have a serious depth problem. Good news overall.

    Shame our timing looking for a "third star" was too early. Would've been something special brewing if we got Beal instead of Westbrick but I'm sure Stern would've come back to life to block the trade or something.

    As for CP3, the Clippers will love whining more about their injury prone team.
