this is what i questioned down the stretch. especially when schroder's in there, we need to find reaves when the ball crosses half court. let schroder beat the pressure, and let reaves run the offense. when lebron runs late game offense, it's too often a missed iso three, and when schroder does, it's too often a turnover.
Yes Lebron trusts Reaves down the stretch but Bron has taken the reigns of the offense more and more in the clutch as the playoffs progress . We'll win or die with Lebron ball in the clutch , it's always the story with superstars in the playoffs but the frustrating part is we have , for once , a credible alternative .
How about this? Since AR is proving in real time in the biggest games on the NBA stage that he can hit a high % of 3 point shots in the Playoffs .... why not give HIM the green light to shoot as many as he can when he's feeling it and all of those from DLO when he's not, and all those that Beasly was supposed to take as a "Volume" shooter from deep? Hey King .... pretend he's Ray Allen from your Miami days.
How about experiment and just let AR carry the team in the last game of the season? Give the home fans a last look
Well they sure ignored me and others to give Austin as many shots as he could get up from deep long as he was shooting 55-60% with them. Incredible 2nd season from him and continued progress as a player.
Reaves is simply a “free throw merchant”. He flops his way to an obscene amount of free throws, which he’s gifted by referees that are clearly rigging things for the Lakers to win. If he didn’t play on the Lakers, he wouldn’t get the same whistle and nobody would be talking about him at all. Simply not a good player at all… Or at least, that’s what fans of other teams were saying on a r/NBA Reddit post after last night’s game. Wanted to step in to lay down the facts and defend AR. Point out how for a “free throw merchant” he’s only averaged about 3.6 FTA per game this series. Yet averaging 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists on 55% from the field and 56% from 3. How he’s been the most dependable player for the Lakers, literally more effective in crunch time than Lebron and AD have been. But then I figured… eh, let the haters have their ignorant takes. Can only hope that the GM’s of those fans team are just as blinded by their Laker hate and we get a slightly better deal to match this summer Almost more than the team success of even getting to the WCF, what is going to make the end of this season more tolerable is how we got to really see that AR IS HIM. No matter what happens roster construction wise, as long as we head into next year with AR under contract and positioned to be our starting SG, I’m happy.
Keep this guy please. At all costs. Poison pill contract or not...you have to keep him. You lose him...and it's 100x worse than losing Caruso. Because Reaves is a potential 2-way star in this league. Nobody can tell me otherwise now
