I contacted TapaTalk support to see if this is a known issue. Awaiting a reply

I find it problematic, sometimes they work, other times they don't.

Well the most common reason they don’t work is when someone deletes their own tweet. That’s when you just see the twitter logo and the word loading. That has nothing to do with LB, it’s just people taking a tweet down so it can’t load.

But what Kenzo is taking about might be TapaTalk, it might be twitter and all the changes they’re making, or it might be LB’s software. I can’t tell yet. Still waiting to hear back from TapaTalk support.

Just heard back from TapaTalk support.

They said this is an issue that’s been reported before by someone else, so they’ll keep me informed on a solution.

So we wait for TapaTalk to fix it.

I don’t know how to do it myself since they changed to X.

I’ll see if I can play with the imbed code, but if JSM can do it anyone here can. I’m not sure what he’s doing different

Uh, no @Barnstable ... I did not even know this was an issue. Went to the tweet, copied & pasted the address in my Firefox address bar into the Media button popup ^ in the message and that's all.

It's all about the link it gives you. On the Twitter mobile app (refuse to call it by its other name), it'll spit out a link like this:
    Code:
    https://twitter.com/SpectrumSN/status/1747835976049979413?t=A1wMLX1l2-0-gbzofZ4alw&s=19
And that will embed 10/10 times. Which works for me because 95% of my posts are made from my phone.

I know if I try to pull a link the same way on a computer, it pulls it as a "x" link instead of "twitter" and that won't embed. No clue why their content works that way. To embed one from computer, I'll have to click on the actual tweet, when you do that you'll see a "twitter" link in your address bar and can then embed it. It's an extra step but that's the only work around I've found thus far.

    Thanks JSM.

LB uses an addon to post Twitter content and I can probably go in to the code and change all instances of requiring the link to say “Twitter” to “x” but then that would make posting from phones have the same problems posting Twitter links from a computer have.

I have no idea how to write the code that would allow both, but I will look into it.

Interesting, for me it’s the opposite. When I copy a link from the iOS Twitter app on my phone, the link is in the “x.com” format. So I’ve just been manually modifying that to “twitter.com” whenever I post a Tweet here.

I’ve kinda gotten used to it, but yeah would be awesome if somehow both link formats would embed properly
