That would be great. But, I think the Lakers might just settle on that max number for him, because it would only be on a tw-year extension deal. That gives us added flexibility in two years, when a potential Reaves poison pill salary could kick in. Or, they could go with a 4-year contract staring at around 27/28 million like you mentioned. Dlo might prefer that type of deal. Either option would be fine. But, right now, I'm assumig the worst case for us, which would be more salary this year, cutting into our short-term financial flexibility, thus impacting our window with Lebron. Its unfortunate, it really hope that Dlo cost less.

The guy would be helpful on a minimum deal. Makes financial sense. I man, we could have Shroeder as the back up PG for 4 million more. Or we could role with a worse back up free agent PG that would take the minimum. Not a lot out there. Then you have Pippen and Harrison. Are they back up PG's yet on a championship team? I could see the case for CP.

wasn't price the one who threw his shoe at a guy once? those 2013-2016 lakers teams were just flat out depressing. 2016-18 at least we had young talent like d-lo, ingram, and ball to watch losely

Its unfortunate, it really hope that Dlo cost less. Maybe they split the differnce, and agree on 30 million per year? But it's a plan for the worst, hope for the best situation for me. There is also something to be said for being optimistic, but that is generally how I look at things. I'm sure a competent GM would do the same.

I could see some potential friction between Dlo and Paul though. Just saying.

Dayam Showtime …. you tend sometimes to be free and loose with the Lakers money to seems like an extreme. $33,000 starting for DLO? No way unless he were to get that kind of an offer from elsewhere which is highly doubtful, and we want to keep him badly enough to match it. He’s not really worth $30M now unless he were to continue to just ball out and get us into a competitive NBA Finals performance. I’m with abeer hoping more to see like a 4 year deal with team or player option on the last year starting at 27-28M. Only reason he got that much from GS was to facilitate the Durant trade and be a placeholder for Wiggins.

think showtime was being conservative, which is wise in this case. contracts be crazy.

that said, i think we won't sign russell to a deal at that price. we've shown we're thinking post-lebron by our patience this year, and i'm also not even sure that lebron/AD won't be pushing for a change there, anyway.

i think russell wants to be here, and we want him here at co-third star billing with reaves, which drops that price to brunson levels. i'd tell his agent that brunson produced as a #1 guy in the playoffs while his guy showed up here and there. they're the same age, roughly. neither is a defender. i'm offering you brunson's deal, and i think it's pretty generous.

the counter is jordan poole (who actually only makes a little more, functionally, iirc). and my counter to that is...ok, i guess go get that from a cap space team?

I just worry this is his Lakers audition tape. Players who come here can't shoot, he's ahead of the curve putting himself on tape like that.

Not really, I mean I try to keep them under the 179.5 M super tax. Some fans want a payroll upwards of 200 M for crying out loud. Im just saying that Dlo would likely cost up to that amount, so I'm using that amount when talking about the payroll. If he ends up costing less ,then we would have more money to use, which would be great. I'm just not going to count on it.

3 pt shooting is overrated. It's a great added boost, but it's not necessary in order to win.

    Okay, bruh.
The Warriors literally had a decade long Dynasty DUE TO THE FACT that they had the best tandem shooters of all time.
    Anyway, you do you, Boo.

Nah, give me Klay once he’s ready to move on from the Dubbs.
He has Laker blood running through his veins.

Yeah so? They aren't many Steph Currys and Klay Thompsons running around, last time I checked. Let alone adding a KD. That doesn't mean that's going to work for everybody. Houston tried that s***...how did that work out?

if the Warriors had made the same % of 3s we made tonight, they'd have won by over 10 points.

We don't build our offense around 3 pt shooting..that's the difference.
