It was inevitable that they would vote against Jokic who more than his two previous MVP is more deserving this time around lol

just highlights the silliness of the awards. AD basically getting shut out of everything while he's dominating the nba playoffs has also been a pretty strong condemnation of the awards enterprise.

Trash Day news: Brooks wanted $25 million a year and a LARGER role in the offense so Memphis management showed him the door under "no circumstances".

Larger role to do what exactly? Some people are delusional. He's not worth half of that.

memphis has 13 guys under contract and lofton, whom i'm guessing they want to keep, plus their own first round pick.

they do have some young guys who might be ready to step up to the starting sf role, but nobody obvious.

no wonder they made the big offer for anunoby at the deadline.

Apparently, past his prime Harden can beat them as well.

i think they are the favorites in any series if they're healthy. but man...how long can horford do it? he's crucial. don't listen to the williamses hype.

it's an interesting idea, for sure. it's too bad there's not a world in which we could keep most important players, bring in lopez, and keep schroder.

I'm not so sure about that. How many games did he play? When he did play, how many games did he play like a world leader? When he's on, he's on. When he's not, he's not.
Hardly award worthy season overall. Now postseason may be a different story.

Lebron also didn't get any MVP votes. And no way should he at 38 be carrying enough of a load to qualify. IMHO.

No player is always great, no player ever was. For some reason, AD's weaker games are treated almost as the norm, meanwhile he averaged 26 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while also anchoring the Lakers defense (which takes a LOT of dedication and effort too, maybe even more than the other, more sexy side of the court). I don't get the narrative around him.

It's the effort and leadership. Always was and always will be.

Now, you can argue it's perceived and only applies to offense, and you'd probably be right. But that also mean that, visuals wise, he isn't worthy of the award (based on the voters mindset, usually).

doesn't solve the problem. we'd still be over the cap and only have one exception to work with. not enough cash to pay both of those guys.

    don't bother. you're 100% correct, but i've tried for a while.

    embiid just got the mvp.

jjj got the dpoy despite playing fewer minutes than AD did this year.

I guess the scrutiny in LA is like pretty much nowhere else

You'd think AD and Bron were on their last legs

I know, you have been the only one constantly putting in the work to defend AD on this forum and I have always admired your persistence :). You have also received like a billion of likes from me in the process haha.
