Nah..I'll take Wood in a heartbeat, on a reasonable salary. He's more useful than Beasley has been. The guy puts up numbers, so what the teams he played on sucked? The Wizards sucked with Rui, that wasn't his fault.
We aren't looking for a 1st,2nd or 3rd option from him. Bench scorer with size to give AD a blow, and kept the offensive pressure on opposing bench units? I'd trade Malik for him straight up .

17 pts 7 rebs 1blk 2 ast and 36% from 3 as a bench role player. What's the problem? Every guy on the team doesn't have to be some kind of star.
The only problem with Wood is he's unrestricted now..gotta take a big paycut to play here, hardcapping for him is out of the question tho.

yeah, no option on his deal makes it moot, imo. he'll get more than the mini mle, and we won't take in a s&t, imo.

as for why not--he's just not a winner. he keeps going places, and places keep souring on him despite his production. that's the reddest of flags for me.

i get the sense he's a headache off the court. me-first guy.

It can be a matter of circumstances sometimes with these guys. Wood was undrafted, and didn't start actually getting any playing time until 3 seasons ago in Detroit. D'Angelo is on his 5th team now in comparison, it's a matter of being in the right situation sometimes, a place that has a role that fits your game. Detroit had lottery talent to make room for, Houston too. Anyway he's out of our price range, but he would be a significant upgrade over Wenyen.

I keep wondering that too..I'm not sure if we can have both a full and mini MLE. That would be great if we could. I think it has something to do with the tax apron or something. Full 11.2 MLE..I think we will have over the cap.

I think Jeannie is going all in for Lebron's last two seasons. I THINK..lol...honestlyI would be somewhat shocked, if she didn't.

I can't lie... Seeing Harden, who I'm definitely not a fan of, just made me so happy. He ripped the soul out of Boston.

There isn’t a player in the NBA I wouldn’t root for against the C Bags.

Chris Paul hurt again...groin SMH..Suns in trouble. I wonder if the new owner, will be looking to dump CP3, for Kyrie or Harden this summer. He's both old and small.

If it’s not us winning it all, I’m good with anyone who isn’t the C Bags or Suns. I wouldn’t mind Denver, Miami, NY, I don’t even hate Philly anymore if it means no C Bags. Don’t really want to see the Warriors win either though, their “fans” are the worst, and a lot have only been around since jumping on the bandwagon in 2015.

slick asked if we can have the full and tpmle:

can't have both, and if rui and russell are retained (i'm assuming reaves will be), we'll be up against the apron already, which is what dictates use of the full mle. we'd have to dump both beasley and bamba for sure.

people are putting the apron around 170, i think. lebron/AD/vando/reaves =112ish. rui and russell will probably be 40+ combined? cap hold for the pick is like 3ish. vet min is 1.1, and you need at least 13 on the team, right? so 5 of those is about 5.5 million.

all that's with neither beasley nor bamba. and you're already basically at the tax. if you try to use the full mle you trigger the hard cap (and you may actually be limited to not using the full thing anyway).

seems to me that using the tpmle and keeping one or both of bamba/beasley (or trading them) is the better route.

F Boston and Phoenix, for obvious reasons.

I don't want Philly either, because the two frauds don't need a ring to give validation to their fans. The two frauds being Beard and Doc, both are actively bad for basketball.

I don't have a problem with GS, but don't like what that does for their place in history. So for that reason alone, I'd rather them not get another.

Of who I'd like to see get it, if not us...
    1) Miami: Butler should get one, that play should be rewarded.
    2) NY: I like some of their guys (Randle, Rose, Hart) and their fans have been through hell.
    3) Nuggets: I don't really dislike anyone there. I'm cool with KCP getting another one.

lol, they already tried to move him for kyrie last year, i think.

it's going to be hard to move him for that kind of value, though. tbh--they're better off treating him like an expiring and getting a couple useful but overpriced role players for him. phx is basically at the tax on just their top 5-6 players right now. this makes trades hard, too. the level of all-in they want on kd could haunt them.

my harden hate has really shrunk since he stopped leading the league in FTAs. his game is much more respectable as a result. that said, philly still has doc, morey, and i still don't really love embiid. of the remaining teams, they'd be low on my list. in reverse order of preference:

    boston
    philly
    phx
    miami
    gs
    ny (lolwtf)
    den
    lakers

LAL-NYK finals would be incredible. It's not going to happen, of course, but one can dream.

If not the Lakers, I’d be good with Miami winning the championship. I think Butler deserves one before he retires.

Other than that anyone but Boston I can live with.

That’s what you’d hope for as a free agent for a nice endorsement.
