Fans are so used to us blowing it that they are having a hard time relaxing during games when teams go on inevitable runs. I get it though. We watched this team lose a lot of winnable games over the last couple of years. Ja went off but we were up by double digits the majority of the game.
My main gripe is I do wish we could fully put teams away to rest our guys more and we definitely can shoot better from three. Beyond that, I was pretty content.
Why is no one smacking Ja’s injured hand? If AD gets an injury I’m sure the Grizzlies would target it. Soft
You guys seen the fans fight (during G2)? Damn, i don't know what was said but it takes a lot, a LOT to rattle my cage like that. Scrawny white dude must have lost his mind, messing with a man 100lbs. heavier. (Can't post a tweet since tapatalk is acting up again).
I think he’s been okay overall. I’d like to see some of the guys glued to the bench get a shot but I get sticking to a core group of guys.
I’m not down with that, sorry. I like Ja a lot- he might be my favorite non Laker. Let’s not injure another player please. We aren’t the Pistons Bad Boys. We can let Brooks play that villain role.
He was my top 3 non laker. After how he handled that gun incident, bs counseling, suing the kid, dumb shirts and whatever, im over him. That being said, let's beat them fair and square.
I do not like letting Ja go off at the end there. Gives them a breath of life in an otherwise demoralizing game.
The refs really fought hard to get this game close: credit to Memphis but in the first half especially that was some atrocious officiating. Roddy offensive foul. Foul on Lebron for hitting the arm that hit him! AD hurts his hip: JJJ hip check no call. aD offensive foul for extending arm on Bane (could live with it). Bane does the same thing to Reaves no call. Bane elbow nut job on AD. AD gets called for the defensive foul. Lebron cut for two no call on Bane elbow. DLo was hand checked every time I have no idea why they allowed all this and then decided to even things out I the second
I felt like we were not getting calls, it is more than obvious that the Grizzlies plan is to push the physicality towards AD as far as the refs let you. 3 plays I can recall, the play under the basket where AD was being played tight by Bane or Tillman???? But Ja Morant came flying though and clipped his hip pointer. It looked to me like the other player pressured him/pushed him from one side, while Ja tried to strip the ball but instead hip pointed him. He was obviously in pain. When you look at it in replay, how can they NOT call that a foul?? The second one was, I think Bane, who was going for a basket and AD was raised trying to block him and gets elbowed in the balls. No call? How do they NOT look at that, AD falls to the ground. The third one was towards the end and looked to me that they pressured and pushed AD and forced a turnover, that looked like a foul to me. There were many other calls or lack of calls that just amazed and infuriated me throughout the game. The NBA has made a huge effort to make the NBA pro game to be a more finesse game and have tried to stop the old style of basketball made famous in the 80's by teams like Detroit, Boston and even the Lakers. I think they are looking the other way in this series and I don't understand it. The Lakers need to record some segments and send them to the league like Phil used to do. I feel like Memphis plays a very physical style that is more reminiscent of the 80's than anything else being played today. If the league was looking for that, I might understand yet it is obvious that this is not the style of basketball the league prefers. So, why the heck are they not calling the fouls on them? I am more than pissed!
My WMC for the night: Desmond Bane proving to be the bane of our existence tonight. I guess he was due but man, we've got to play better D on him especially closing out on those open threes.
I can't believe we won in a crucial game in which AD didn't really show up. Now now: hear me out. As Wino and others say, clearly the Grizz think AD is soft and the key to the Lakers offense, so they're clobbering him every chance, and they don't care if they get called for fouls. And the refs are letting the Grizz get away with a lot. MEM players: "If you can, elbow AD in the groin while going for a shot or a board." "And there's Bane with a shot to AD's groin as he drives and hits a layup. No call!" I really dislike this young team, which tip over into thugs pretty easily. When AR picked up his 4th foul very early in the 3rd Q, at least he gave a shot to Ja's mug. It was about time one of them got a shot. I don't think Xavier Tillman, Luke Kennard or David Roddy are thugs. The rest? You be the judge. If I were a reporter afterward and Brooks was at the podium, here's my Q: "What were you thinking when Lebron drove on you in OT and hit that bucket off the glass to let the Lakers go up 5?"
Aside from MEM's dirty play, my only WMC after winning an OT game to go up 3-1 on the 2nd seed: Dennis? Can you take care of the damned ball? He threw it away - to no one - THREE times.
Another play that was not called. When Lebron made that basket with .08 seconds left, Ja fouled AD. Come on, he on his back completely fouling him. No call. They were fouling him all game long. He got screwed by the refs, plain and simple. Phil would complain and take it to the press.
How many times have these jerks hit our players in the nuts. I'm really starting to hate these Draymond Green imposters.
