he had a huge steal late in the game when minny tried to go to their bread and butter conley pick and roll, and he rope a doped the wily veteran into throwing him the ball. that was a great play and really big in terms of rattling minny's confidence that they could just get a good shot when they wanted one.

The offense is getting killed when he's in the short corner. Teams are sagging off of him and it's messing up the rest of the actions.
Plus he really does have bad hands. He's a guy who would have definitely been moved to corner after a college coach recruited him to be an athletic WR out of high school.

That being said the Lakers aren't committing to him as their POA defender. Put him on Ant and then on offense use him as a screener or in the dunker spot. He's got too many other skills (great defender still and he's a good cutter/passer/etc) just to get killed in his minutes because they are putting him in as a floor spacer

Thinking back at this: this was even more of a horrific call. If the block stands, Lakers get the ball back down only 2 with the momentum but I think after this the Wolves pushed the lead to 11 just as half time was about to start. Momentum shift was huge as the Lakers pounced all over the Wolves before this call

Really a call that could have easily cost the Lakers the game even though it was only in the second quarter. League needs to change the rules and you get to keep your challenge if you win

I second that. And after the 3rd successful challenge the ref crew gets a nice fat fine for sucking. :D

I agree!! 3 lost challenges in a row and the ref is reviewed, if found lacking, a fine. If they retaliate, fired!

“Vanderbilt has a $4.7 million team option for next season, one the Lakers plan on exercising. He’s hopeful he can put down roots in Los Angeles as part of what he deems a ‘high-caliber organization

Yeah, we'd definitely want him to stay. Having a versatile defensive specialist on the team is a must if you want to be a true contender.

i hope the FO views vando and rui as our two-headed big wing type. we've been hoping to get our hands on one for years, and while we couldn't get it all in the same package (because there are only like, 5 of those), this will do.

Can’t forget Vando, he set the tone guarding Ja very well from the start, he was fighting hard for boards, sneaking into open spots for dunks, good stuff.

Every team needs a guy like him. When he's engaged from the start, good things happen.

Hats off to him , he'll defend and battle

I can see some hockey like substitutions between him and Rui down the strech in some games

Keep him away from Jaren Jackson and we will be fine. He is a great team glue guy for the dirty work.

I wouldn’t mind throwing Tristan Thompson in there for stretches on JJJ.

Without Ja, he had nothing to do. Not sure why we put him on Jones. Two really solid plays, but that's about it.

Should've only played 15 minutes. Distribute those 7 between Rui and TT.
