Massey is spotty at best, but please don't be this predictable Rob.

If he's willing to take a $15m a year haircut, he can come backup AD and Bron on a two year deal. If he's not, hang up the phone and block his number. At least we're not in a position to overpay him now (that was my big fear) unless we gutted the team for him and no one is that dumb.

lol, i see no path to draymond. we won't give up any value for him, and gs would rather just get off his salary than take back junk.

    this isn't real.

Pass. We got a younger, more likeable defensive wing in Vando at a fraction of the cost.

"They believe that Green would be the piece they have been missing on the defensive end of the floor."

Ah yes, the missing piece that the #1 defense in the league is totally missing out on.

Lakers just need to focus on re-signing all of their guys this summer and then seeing what comes available in the trade market.

We can't afford to lose assets right now - so Dlo, Beas, Rui, Reaves all need to be re-signed.

If Troy Brown/Lonnie Walker/Dennis Schroder/Wenyen Gabriel all wanna come back at a discount, happy to bring them back.

We'll have a nice group of guys all locked in long-term and they will all individually hold their value in trades.

Dangling Dlo/Beas/Bamba/whoever we take at 17th pick or heck just Beas/Bamba/17th pick should return some serious value.

i just don't think we're going over 180 in salary. we might get squeamish at 170, tbh. i mean, we let caruso walk for sub-mle. i'm hoping we learned from that, but i'm not optimistic enough to think we'll go full warriors here.

What does everyone need to take in order for us to stay at 170M?

If I have to root for Draymond after having Bevs thrown in the mix: ugggghh.

This would be really, really tough. I have payroll at around 190 million, and that is without Bamba and Brown coming back. If Lakers are hell bent on getting under 170M, they would likely have to part ways with Beasley, and not use the taxpayer MLE. Also Dlo would have to take slightly less then the 33M he is eligible for with his extension.

yeah, i listed some thoughts on it in the depth chart thread. to me, 180 is the lowest we keep it and still be serious about contending. we'd have to get very creative otherwise and depend on nailing vet mins again, which is a dicey proposition.

the best way to start working is knowing that lebron/AD/christie/vando/reaves is about 112 next year, and those are all locked in.

for reasons above, i just don't buy the draymond stuff. he's klutch, and we're likely helping him gain leverage in FA.

in order to be successful, we'll need to keep plenty of high quality players around our delicate star core that will be lucky to play 60 games a year and be around for the playoffs.

in an ideal world, lebron is making what AD makes, and we have another 7 million to use. or we're owned by some megazillionaire. that would help, too.

though it seems that the newest cba will finally have some actual limitations on clippers/warriors-esque spending.

Stomp aside, this is even more stupid. And some people want this guy on the Lakers (not on this site, I don't think). Smh.

that's a weird play. like, did he just take his eye off curry for a second? because it wasn't like he stopped on a dime and darted sideways.

This is hilarious...the possibility of a team spending so much that they break the 2nd apron in multiple years...but are the worst team in the league, and suffer draft penalties for it?

Seems like something the Knicks of a few years ago would do!
