I'd like to see Tristan get at one least flagrant foul, on his Canadian buddy in this series. I don't like this dude.
Great great game!!! Absolutely what you need from your supporting cast in the playoffs. It's how series are turned, when you have that comes and gets you 30 (or 29). We saw it yesterday with Monk too Love to see it
lol wut. bane talking about rui? watching bane get his s*** absolutely erased by AD (after he got away with an offensive foul) and then crying was gold. keep your trex a** out of the paint, son.
He should be more worried about all the extra attention he and Brooks are going to get if we don't have to scheme for Ja for a game or games. JJJ ain't going to be able to do it himself and those two shooting 5/19 from 3 AT HOME won't get it done for them. Another Rui highlight Smooth. I just expect them all to go in. It's almost surprising when he misses a mid range bucket regardless of the difficulty level. Wish Melo was still around even in an unofficial capacity. The mid range was his base camp and he could give the young'n a couple pointers. Rui doesn't need much in that department, but when you're mastering a trade, it's always good to go to the maestro.
I was going to say something about Handy and Hachimura as well. Phil’s the guy who made the reference and he just said Rui “reminded” him of Kawhi when he worked with him in Toronto. The first week he was here! He’s clearly a better player already in a number of areas, not the least of which are scoring the ball and playing solid improving defense. How many off seasons of solid continuing work and progress before we can maybe say we really do have a Kawhi “Lite” type player? One who’s young and healthy. One more? Two? Can almost say it now from what we’ve seen?
If he keeps hitting 3's at a decent percentage , opponents will have to guard him closer .. He'll be able to fake and step into his mid-range game then
What a performance by Rui! As Bane said..."let's see if he'll do that again"...I have a feeling this is just the beginning of Rui's run. We just need to make sure he's getting minutes -that's been his biggest issue is not seeing the floor enough. I'm glad that Ham shortened the rotation and went with Rui as the first guy off the bench. Always thought that he could play bigger, and that's what he was doing. Idk if he's gonna stay that hot from 3...but one thing I do know is that this guy has improved on both ends since being here and ever since getting that DNP, he has been bustin his a** on the court and it's paying off.
i remember when AD was going to miss the houston game, and i thought "this is a chance for rui to show some versatility and stand in as a smallball 5". and it didn't go well. but he's done some of that defensively since then. if we can deploy him 3-5 depending on matchups, that's really valuable.
Great calves , legs and body just entering early prime and will get stronger. Only 25 years old this past February and only 7 months older than Reaves.
Things are working as is right now with Rui as the 6th man, but he’s easily a top 5 talent on our team. Gotta retain him no matter what, and I think slot him into the starting lineup next year. Just go with your most talented lineup (DLo, Reaves, Lebron, Rui, AD) and see how high the ceiling can get when they develop more continuity together
