Mavs have dug themselves a hole. Given how Cuban feels about us I am enjoying watching them flame out

Yeah, I just don't see a path there in the window they have. They can't afford to let Kyrie walk AND they have to get better than they were before Brunson walked. They don't have the means to add that quality of depth, the wing defense and reliable front court they have to get in order to be relevant.

they *might* be able to move THJ for an expensive but useful frontcourt player? they can probably s&t wood to fill a need?

they have legit starters 1-3 in kyrie/green/luka, and i think hardy will be ready to be the 3rd guard next year.

but they've got nothing at 4/5. kleber's solid but needs to be a 20mpg backup to be maximally effective.

so yeah, they need to turn THJ and wood into guys who can play the 4 and 5 effectively. bullock's an expiring that some teams might be interested in, too, i suppose. won't be easy, but they've got about 40 million in tradable salary to try to make it happen.

Rest of the season is tomorrow? Hasn’t the deadline passed for players picked up to be eligible for the playoffs. Stupidest non move was not giving Huff that last roster spot for cheap or one of the 2 ways from either of the 2 that have them and barely got used. Jay has proved in the last couple weeks he can play and have an impact on D at the rim plus stretch the floor in the “NBA”. D player of the year out of everyone in G-League.

No, any player we would sign would be playoff eligible as long as they were waived from whatever team they were on (if they were on a team at all) by a specific date. And yes I agree about the Huff situation, we managed that poorly, which is out of character for this franchise actually, that’s the area we’ve been doing well in despite ups and downs in other areas, scouting, drafting and G-League.

Thanks. Has it always been this way with players picked up off of waivers? I know there was some kind of “pick up” in the past that had to be by a certain date to be eligible for the post season.

i think it's always been about when they were waived, first and foremost. believe it's 3/1? that's why lots of guys get bought out then. but you can sign all the way up to the end of the season.

weird if we say, sign ibaka now, when having him against say, houston, would have us in a very different position today. all for some cash for the busses.

svi was traded for reggie bullock

surprised at how well he's played lately considering he's bounced around quite a bit since leaving detroit a few years back

didn't see shaq harrison coming, but thompson makes sense i guess.

i've long been interested in shaq, but his shooting hasn't come around.
