that's what i read last week (that he was heading to rehab of some sort).

he's not going to be right this year. memphis needs to invest in getting him squared away for his and their future interests. i hope he's able to get through it.

Sorry to hear about all of this with Ja. He’s one of my favorite players (non Laker) in the league. He’s going to be a great one. But he’s got to get himself right.

Ja being out opens up the western conference even more. If i'm the Lakers I'm angling to play the Grizzlies in R1, not the Kings.

However, so far, Memphis has been able to string wins together without him, and they were actually quite good last year without him I Think they went like 22-3?

True, but this year they're 6-7 without him, including a loss to us without Bron. And another loss previously when they had both Ja and Adams and we didn't have AD.

2 of their 6 wins were this week against the luka-less and then luka and kyrie-less mavs, too. they're in trouble against good teams without him.

Yeah the Grizz are in bigtime trouble down the stretch here, and in the playoffs, without Ja and Clarke. They'd get swept without those two, have to assume that Ja will be back for the playoffs, I wouldn't fear them at all in a 7 game series, with Ja either though. The Kings either, Dangelo gives us that 3rd reliable scorer, to go with Lebron and AD, the Kings simply look to outscore people, I don't think we'd have much problem, putting up big numbers on them in a series.

We are apparently sticking with the plan to sit AD on back to backs… and yet haven’t signed another center yet. WTF…

Would like another body since Vando and Gabriel can get in foul trouble easily. Segun is going for 30/15. But if we can't beat a 16 win Rockets team, we're wasting our time.

They just beat a healthy C Bags team without Sengun.

Yes they’re a bad team, but I think we’re understating how detrimental it is to have zero real centers. Gabriel and Vando are already undersized and I don’t think they’d be able to guard Sengun or even consistently get enough boards. And as you stated, they’re very prone to getting in foul trouble. If we’re resorting to playing Rui at the 5, the whole dynamic of the game is different and I don’t think the team’s records matter much.

Hopefully we can at least get another big body on a 10 day contract who can fly out and be available

Yeah that was a straight up stupid move by lakers management. Only two legit bigs on the team, need to have that insurance big for just in case situations.

i'm all for planned rest for AD throughout the season, but...we kinda need wins right now, and our backup c is injured. you go from likely win to likely loss with that choice.

hard to believe they wont give some guy a 10 day contract just to play a few minutes and as insurance.

I went looking to see if we had any size on South Bay because that would be the easiest solution...we don't. Swider is the biggest guy they have. Apparently we just don't like size insurance.

ham clearly doesn't prioritize size. i think that's undeniable at this point. i'm guessing if he had been asking for it, the FO would have obliged. and i guess teams have been successful playing small in spurts...

interested to see if rui (whom i'd start at center) can guard someone like sengun. rui was a post in college, and he's not small.
