Yasuke is showing some grit, he didn't get down on himself for not playing that well recently. Great pickup

Getting comfortable in his role, and he can be a star at it.

He just couldn't take watching AR make those reverse layups without taking one himself!!

The two tough midrange Js he hit in the 3rd were MUCH needed to keep us in the game

I'm a big fan of Rui and I want him here next year as well. His offense is huge for us if/when Lebron is out.

He's been a really good source of buckets when we needed to score the past couple games.

I’m not sure what’s going to happen with Rui, he is too inconsistent to really make a place for himself in a playoff rotation. He has a similar problem to Lonnie in that sense.

    DAR / DS
    Beasley / Reaves
    Vando / TBJ
    Lebron
    AD / Mo

We’ll probably run something along those lines come the playoffs.

Who you got behind LeBron then? And don’t agree. We need to be able to utilize the positive things he brings. This last game showed some better results with DAR back in the mix.

Vando behind Lebron and Troy will get the minutes over Rui, better defender and shooter. Reaves will occasionally play sf against backups.

    Edit:

Basically AD and Mo will hold down the C spot.

Lebron, Vando and Troy will be the SF and PFs.

Beasley and Reaves will be the SGs and Dlo and Schroeder are the PGs.

That all makes sense but Rui also has the rest of the season now with hopefully our best distributors in DAR, Schroder and Reaves all available again and if /when LeBron is back …. to show his impact and probably some level of continuing improvement on offense with his big size and mid range game that can be valuable. To maybe outweigh the negative aspects on D. (No doubt working on those with staff daily too). He looked damned good against Toronto’s size with DAR’s first game back. I doubt he will just NOT see any time once we hit the playoffs, especially in a series. 1 or 2 games Play In though it might be the case.

at this point, he'd be a situational player in a playoff series, i agree. but he's definitely good enough to eat minutes in the regular season. i'd like to keep him and see if handy can make him marcus morris lite.

If we let go of Rui then it would be my fault for buying his jersey prematurely like I did the 1st time Dwight DLO and ZO were acquired they were gone after 1 or two seasons:giggle:. Never gonna buy HBK and Vando jerseys

so many variables still. as we're discussing in other threads--how much are we going to spend on other players? what kinds of offers will rui get?

i could definitely see him here next year, though.

I have a feeling they are going to keep Rui: he's shown he can guard bigger PF type with wing skills such as Randle and BI better than Brown.

Because they have Christie waiting in the "wings" they won't prioritize resigning Brown as much.

That mid-range J is good and mostly consistent. Likes to use the fake to dribble and get a better % shot. Does not force anything. Disciplined player.

glad rui's getting the start; that's what i'd have done. he's strong enough to go against smaller centers like houston's, imo. no rim protection, though.
