i think it was just standard "i thought of this thing i bet you didn't think of; it's why i'm a genius!"

he just didn't bank on the mileage that people are going to get from abstracting him yelling "toilets" with an excited, commanding tone. it's going to be great. i'm thinking of all sorts of fun, creative repurposing.

 

well, even if he runs the speech by, it's the delivery that's key. had he just calmly said "you know, folks don't think about it--because why?--but having more toilets is really conducive to a better arena experience, so we paid attention to things like that, things we felt were shortcomings in other places". i'd have also sprinkled (heehee) in at least one other non-toilet detail, here, too (ok, that's for the speech writers).

but what the speech approver/writer can't do is stop him from triumphantly yelling "toilets".

lol, imagine you're the marketing person who gets fired three years from now after the millionth hilarious repurposing of the clip, and you're like "he just said he was going to mention the toilets...he didn't say it was going to be a highlight...what could i have done?!"

anyway, good thing we didn't sign jay huff.

 

he played 23 minutes. 7 pts 6 rebs 1 assist. also has 4 blocks in his last 3 games

i still wonder why he got permanently glued to the bench here. he wasn't very good but ham just straight up refused to play him after a little while
