I was referring to the difference in perception, with a political campaign ad, that's a public forum too. I guess NBA players are held to a higher standard.

Ouch..The news keeps getting worse for the Grizzlies

Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke is out indefinitely after sustaining a torn left Achilles in Friday’s loss against the Nuggets, the team announced Saturday. Here’s what you need to know:

    • Clarke exited the game late in the first quarter after appearing to suffer a non-contact leg injury.
    • He was helped off the court without putting any weight on his left leg.
    • Clarke is expected to make a full recovery and “further updates will be provided as appropriate,” the Grizzlies said in a statement.
    Backstory
Clarke began limping after a missed free throw in the last seconds of the first quarter of Friday’s game, which ended in a 113-97 loss to Denver. Clarke then fell at midcourt before heading to the locker room.

Clarke, a key sixth man for Memphis, is averaging 10 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game this season for the Grizzlies, who sit second in the Western Conference with a 38-24 record. He inked a four-year, $52 million extension with Memphis in October.

Wasn’t the NBA that suspended him apparently, it was the Grizzlies themselves.

Was reading Grizzlies fans disappointed in Ja specifically because of how prevalent gun violence already is in Memphis, that he was sending a bad message to the youth.

Second amendment is cool and all that, but there is a BIG difference between owning a gun for protection and foolishly brandishing it on a IG live video while drunk at a strip club just to try to look hard.

I don’t think it matters whether a law was broken or not (and it very well may have been, I’m not sure Colorado allows you to open carry inside strip clubs while intoxicated), it’s a terrible image for Ja and the Grizzlies.

Aside from the bias of wanting an easier matchup on Tuesday, I do actually think the Grizzlies are making the right call here. Ja is just straight up acting a fool, especially to do this the same week another gun story about him went viral. Let’s not forget this past year he also got sensitive at a random talking crap on him on Twitter and told them “it’s free to see how hollows feel” (referring to hollow point bullets as a threat)

The Grizzlies are right in trying to teach their franchise cornerstone a lesson. I’m skeptical they get through to him though.

So... perhaps they should arrange a visit -- I hear Javaris can share some stories.

It's not a good PR look..maybe he should get out of Memphis. Lebron would be a great mentor.

like the rest of the developed world where owning guns is mostly not allowed and where are rarely ever any shootings, more safety in general and so on?

sorry I know you shouldnt post political stuff in this forum, but couldnt resist, this is pure peddling of Fox news and conservative storylines and tired BS arguments.

Naw. Go study history. Again, you can “feel safe” with only the overlords brandishing fire arms, but there’s a reason why it’s in our Constitution.

    No more politics talk.

If it doesn’t pertain directly to JA’s gun trouble, leave it at the door… as JA should have done with the gun in that club.

    hj on point per usual.

this might be a big deal. i'm a huge fan of clarke as a glue guy. he's their vando. i don't know if you can replace it, and i don't know if he can be the player he was after tearing that achilles (though that prognosis seems much better now than in years past, admittedly). feel bad for clarke because he hasn't cashed in yet.

yeah, i was about to go here and didn't, but also felt bad that i didn't. just not factual.

i hope for his sake that's coming from him and not his agent's pr team. shannon sharpe isn't always on point, but he was right that once you escape that life, you escape it and try to help others escape it. you don't cosplay the version of yourself that you gladly left behind.

I think this is a good message from Jalen, and I hope Ja gets this sorted out, it’s not a joke, it’s serious
