Long clip but Lebron should incorporate old school AD into his bag IMO. Less 3's and more mid range face up attacks. He has the footwork

Dantley has one of the highest TS% for a volume scorer in NBA history.
He was also maybe the worst ball stopper in NBA history who players and teams got sick of pretty quickly. The Isiah/Dantley feud is almost as legendary as the Isiah/Jordan feud but can't really blame Isiah for this one as Dantley could barely stay more than a few years anywhere.

That fall away/step back from the post-up was a hell of a shot though

I'm talking about the moves. Lebron is a superior all around player. Jordan copied Hakeem 's post up dream shake, and made it his own signature move.

dantley was basically harden before harden. guy lived at the FT line because he was so good at getting inside and drawing fouls, but like pioneer said he was a notorious ball stopper who relied on unorthodox moves to get to the hoop. i think i remember reading one of his legs was shorter than the other so he had special shoes he wore, which is maybe why he played the way he did. either way, guy had a very quick first step. terrible defender though

he gets a bad rep because both the lakers and pistons won titles after trading him, but he led detroit in scoring in the 88 finals and i think utah messed up in letting him go in the first place. he fit well alongside stockton/malone and they probably could have made some more noise in the playoffs if they had kept him

Sorry, that’s my fault, I don’t remember what I was doing when I read that and replied but I read your intent wrong. When I saw charmin for some reason I read it as brittle, like thin as toilet paper. “Soft” as in like mentality or pain tolerance didn’t even occur to me. My thinking was more along the lines of like yes if AD got this injury after all his others he’d be thought of as brittle, where I’m not surprised at this stuff now from LeBron at this stage of his career. Again, that’s my fault, no age has nothing to do with how you react to or treat an injury other than maybe healing time. Misunderstand/misreading/miscommunication on my part.

Man I keep forgetting how different Jordan was before the first retirement. He was a great athlete still after he came back but he depended on shots like the turnaround mid post jumper

But before that he moved like a cobra on the court. Just exploded on you.

^Surprised Bayless has not seen or used it yet considering he believes James faked his injury.

Haven’t we seen that footage before, as in it’s old? Is Lamar even currently on tour?

You can accuse LeBron of a few things, but being stupid is not one that would stick.

If you count AD not missing as much time in New Orleans as he has in LA, the same thing should apply to Bron. AD is getting paid a lot more in LA also.

Edit: I’m always saying I don’t care what any player did on their other teams, so this isn’t an excuse for either guy.

right. lebron's been basically as brittle as AD has since he's been here. one gets forgiven, one gets lambasted at every turn. i just don't get it. i don't like that our stars probably project to play 50 games a year, either, but it's both of them. if you want to trash and trade one, you should want to trash and trade the other.

i think we should keep both until their contracts run out or they demand a trade, then start the painful process of rebuilding. in the interim, hope they're healthy enough at the right times to make noise next year. just like the clippers, sixers, and suns have to do every year now.

Again, I think it has to do with the expectations of Lebron's age and the fact that he was incredibly healthy for most of his career. You have to figure there's going to be wear and tear that takes its toll in these late years of a career.

AD's injuries are more frustrating and unforeseen. It makes you believe that he's injury prone which I guess he's been proven to be to an extent. I don't think anyone views Lebron as particularly injury prone given his iron man health over his career. It's hard for fans to understand a player under 30 who misses this much time every year as a Laker beyond the first one.

I'm willing to live it with because AD is just that special of a player. When healthy and aggressive he's a top 5-10 talent in the league and top 3 two-way player along with Giannis and Embiid. You just can't replace that with anyone I can think of.

I'm absolutely down to keep both AD and Lebron until their contracts are up. I love what Rob did at the deadline and I think he's put us in a great position to compete going forward. Now just don't do anything dumb like sign Kyrie to a max 4-5 year deal and I think we'll be good. I don't think we will do that for the record.

How many times does it need to be repeated that LeBron is 38 in year 20 and AD is 29 in year 11? For me it was always expected that LeBron would decline and have more injuries as he aged, what I never expected was for him to be this good in year 20, it’s possible and even likely he gets more of a pass for being this good. He carried us for a stretch, and yeah so did AD, but I’d EXPECT it from AD in his prime, for LeBron it was just incredible. LeBron from age 26 through 33 before he came here though, 79, 62, 76, 77, 69, 76, 74, and 82 games played. It’s likely that last year in Cleveland carrying that team like he did began the start of the wear and tear though, as he only played 55 games next season with us. I’ll also repeat that carrying the rosters he has last season and this one can’t be good for him and likely contributes to the injuries.

AD from 26 years old to now, 62, 36, 40, and 38 games played this season so far. I don’t see how they’re comparable, but ok. LeBron does get plenty of hate though, some here even, claims he’s faking injury to go on vacation and such, laughable stuff. I used to be one of the biggest LeBron haters around, but he’s given us all he has when he can go, I can’t really say the same for AD, good as he’s been for stretches.
