Was waiting until next week till this thread. Wanted to see what we do at the deadline and if we get anyone with multiple years left on their deal. That might matter with who we target in the draft.

Got some guys I like and will start sharing next week.

Interesting we'd send two scouts to this one.

George (Eric Gordon comp) is going in the top 10.

The only other players on the court with looking at:
Mike Miles - 6-1 PG for TCU. late 2nd/undrafted
Adam Flagler- 6-3 shooter for Baylor. Undrafted.

i'm a best player available guy--especially given our current situation. but yeah, legit positional size is always part of that. especially in the first round. you can get creative with 2nds and UDFAs, but in the first round if you can't make a case that a guy is big enough to play his spot, i'd pause hard.

miles seems like a guy we'd get in a reaves situation.

After seeing the guys play a few games, my target type hasn't changed too much. In the first round, I'm going with the best 3&D SF available. Rui and Vanderbilt are 4/3s, I want just a 3. It's the hardest, most expensive type to find in FA and the easiest to sell off later on.

In the second round, I'm looking for the most ready third string C. We also need a bigger backup PG with some floor general ability, but I feel that's easier to find from a vet in free agency.

As of right now, I'm looking at two guys who might be in our range in the first

    Rayan Rupert

I think he ends up climbing, but right now most mocks have him in our general range.

    Maxwell Lewis

For second round bigs, I haven't done enough looking. Maybe
James Nnaji or DaRon Holmes II.

keegan murray's twin brother is playing well at iowa and projected a little after where we'd pick. seems like someone we'd look at, given our history in the mid/late first round.

btw, after the top five or so, different mocks are all over the place, which bodes well for our pick swap situation--we're likely looking at the same group of players regardless of how things play out.

digging around a bit because i'm on sabbatical and also have covid and thus am stuck in the house:

i like where we're drafting this year (somewhere between 10 and 20, probably right in the middle of that) because it's one of those drafts where the mocks are all over the place (as i mentioned above).

i'm still liking kris murray and think people are sleeping on him. his twin brother just developed a little faster, but their games are similar. hard to believe one was consensus mid-lotto and the other is projected in the teens or later. juwan howard's kidd also interests me as a player with a similar profile in some regards. at least one if not both should be available when we pick. the other guy who's interested me and shown up in our range is cason wallace. he's got legit size for a pg/combo guard, a defensive rep with the athletic tools to support it at the next level. just like what i've seen there. some sort of cross between deanthony melton and jason maxey, imo. would be a good get in the mid-first.
