FWIW.. You only pay Zero state tax on Home Games.. The other 41 games, you have to pay taxes in those States..

I think he'll go to Dallas or across the hall to the Clippers. Good riddance

I agree actually and I think Ramona's tweet is strategically timed. If we get a go ahead from anyone, we're SPRINTING with it. To heck with waiting for Aldridge or Jordan. Get a "yes" and run run run run.

The tax situation is way overblown. It's not as much of a factor as people think, especially if you're in a market where endorsements/other business opportunities can make up for the loss.

My thoughts exactly. Lakers knew Spurs were the 'favorites.' Subsequently, the Spurs put themselves into a great position with Aldridge. Time to move on!

You keep your options open. The Lakers are certainly not the frontrunners for Deandre or Aldridge, even though they prefer them, so you make as many pitches as possible. The Lakers are doing their due diligence and flying around the country right now to get all of the options they can.

I have a feeling we end up with Monroe. I'd much rather have Harris and Biyombo/Davis though.

I think we'll get Love. And he'll actually stay healthy for us. If we can steal Biyombo on the cheap with Love. That's a win.

I think New York and LA each get one of Monroe and Harris.

    I can live with it.

If Jordan goes to the Mavs, I'd LOVE to call Chandler and throw a big contract his way to keep him out of the Clipper locker room and to help lead our young cats with Kobe.

Ok, so after the initial Aldridge disappointment, and repeated kicks to the groin that Woj was tweeting, I'm starting to get excited again. Pitching Monroe, Jordan, Love, and we'll move on anybody who will take our money.

And Love >>> LMA purely from a talent perspective. Add in the age factor and it's not even close imo.

If you reside in Texas 9 months all endorsement income will be taxed at the State you reside in. Some of these guys make more in endorsements than in salary each year.

I'm not so sure about the "home game" tax thing. Players get paid monthly and it's for all time on the clock for their team not just "games". The 2.5 hours they perform in another State is work out of state but practice, team meetings etc. in the state of residency would be taxed as such I believe. I work in a lot of States myself and that's how I do my taxes. Well, that's how my accountant does my taxes.

I've said this before. I won't be mad if we strike out on the "big time" free agents. None of them are transcendent talents that fall in the top 10 players in the league. We have a couple potential cornerstone type players in Russell and Randle. We have two guys that could contribute to a championship team in Clarkson and Black. And of course we have our Dark Horse in Upshaw who has the capacity to become one of the top 7-10 players in this draft if he puts his off court issues aside.

My new “dream” offseason is Wade signs a two year 36 million dollar deal with a team option on the second. We unload Swaggy and sign Chandler to the remainder of our cap space. Wade, Kobe and Chandler have capable backups and young depth behind them in Upshaw, Russell and Clarkson. We take the Spurs route of saving our veterans until the playoffs. Then when they roll around we have our veterans rested and we get the kids playoff xp. Meanwhile, Butler signs the QO with the Bulls making him an UFA next summer. Butler wants to be on the Lakers, so if he takes the QO, he should be a slam dunk and he can play the 2 or the 3.

How much would Harris cost us? Is it possible to get him and Ed Davis?

Of those 3, I prefer DJ for this team..
Wouldn't be too disappointed in any of them though
