If we manage to climb our way into the playoffs, I'd much rather be in a bracket with Memphis and Denver, than the Suns and Clippers.

There could always be a surprise name that pop up on the buyout market. I'm thinking Boogie, Ibaka, Rudy Gay or (gasp) Avery Bradley tho lol.

Bev and Caruso would be a good defensive but offensively challenged duo.

Lol. Good pick up for them. Also glad that we don't need to deal with beverley going to another WC team where he'll surely play 100x better and torture us. I thought maybe he would go back to Minny, but then I heard that's not possible?

I'm also happy that the Clippers are stupid and picked Russ instead of Bev....Bev would have been good for the Clippers I think and it woulda been annoying having to play against him cuz he'd surely play better with the Clippers.

The Clippers already had Bev, I guess they didn't want him back.

that's what i couldn't figure out. sure, if all you did was dump wall and add a backup center, then adding russ makes some sense (though, only a little, imo). but to bring him in AFTER your biggest moves were adding ballhandling guards? reeks of not having an actual plan (or having plans A-F fail on you). if the clippers were the lakers, there would be nonstop, wall-to-wall sCrAmbLIng coverage instead of..."isn't this also more genius?!"

also hilarious that the clips get to perpetually be "is it ok to give them a chance now?" when they were the betting favorites to come out of the west in the preseason. they get to just underachieve left and right and still be cast as overachievers. it's insane. they're SUPPOSED TO BE IN FIRST PLACE, dip*****. that they have a legit shot to catch the sacramento kings for 3rd place isn't a f***ing badge of honor!

Screw the Clippers on principle, but if they are healthy, they are a problem. I have zero confidence, that D'Angelo or Dennis would be able to keep Russ out of the paint, and they have some scorers. That's a bad matchup for us. They probably won't make it deep into the playoffs, without Kawhi or George getting dinged up tho, that's why I'd rather see them in the Conference Finals.

This is going to be fun to watch the Flippers underachieve, again. I’m so happy they added Brick.

Lol you cannot be serious....Russ isn't going to give anybody problems and he's not going to get into the paint because we're going to sag off of him and DARE him to shoot like all these other stupid a** teams did to US.

Russ is going to get torched by anyone he tries to guard. The movement that we'll have on our team...he won't be able to keep up and he'll get lost on defense and we'll just run circles around him.

For once, I feel like we have a shot at beating the Clippers because they have THAT guy now lol.

Yeah..we'll see about all that. I'd rather not face the Clippers early in the playoffs..might be an early exit.

It was always Steve Ballmer' evil plan... steal Leonard, plant DressBrick on the Lakers to tank them.. then steal DressBrick for pennies and unleash his god-mode abilities.

no way in hell would i want to see them in the playoffs

There will be some kind of penalty associated with asking out / forcing a trade. I don’t know what it could be, but I was just throwing stuff out there.

I tend to agree with this. The Clippers get up for the matchup between us way more than we do at this point. While I think we should be able to beat them, I need to see us actually show up and do it before being confident about it.

That said, we've got to get to the playoffs first. We're in striking distance but the team has to come out and perform consistently.

i'm having trouble keeping the threads of this conversation straight. are we comparing our current team to the clippers current team or discussing whether the clippers moves at the deadline made sense?

the current clippers team should beat us. that was incredibly true prior to the trade deadline, and it's still true. they have an expensive roster that has now spent a long time together under the same coach and system. they should beat everyone. they don't. but they should.

none of that means that adding russ under the circumstances was wise. and maybe russ is finally humbled enough to play his role properly, and it works for them. but even if it does work, i'm not sure that a) benching your other two deadline acquisitions or b) moving to multi-small guard lineups are great outcomes. further, you invested even more in playing non-shooting centers--i'm not sure there's a coach that can make a lineup with russ and a non-shooting center work with any consistency. so are you benching both of them, too?

maybe i look dumb later, but i'm not seeing the logic. in terms of style of play, russ and john wall are actually pretty similar at this point, and they really couldn't wait to move on from him.
