Even when half of the Laker players had only been Lakers for like, 96 hours. Wizards shot 3s against them like POR did against us. Watched GSW @ Clips and Clips were down 89-88, then blew out GSW. Kawhi was ridiculous. I don't have many predictions for the West, but one of 'em is this: Clips will move up; SAC will move down.
came here to post this; knew it was going to happen. nassir little goes 0-5. lillard 5-17 from three. don't try to tell me our games aren't harder than others'.
I really miss the days when teams gave us their best shot and we still kicked their butts. It would be nice to see one of these wannabe rival squads come in to town and we just run them off the floor.
yeah, i think we finally have the personnel to blow some folks out; just need to get everyone on the floor and familiar with each other.
Well it doesn't help to have James not take part in this new look squad yet. Arguably we beat the Bucks (even while we were dressing only 9 players) and the Blazers with LeBron playing, but alas his ankle only responds to game action when a scoring record is in play or dare I say the All-Star game??? Ugh. But yes, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize you can't play DS and D'Lo together at the same time. One is capable of playing off-guard while the other isn't and more times than not it is the wrong one doing the off-guard work. I don't know what it is going to take to get Ham to realize this small lineup thing isn't working, but evidently getting rid of two of them wasn't enough and still leaves Schroder maxing out with the most guard minutes. Hopefully a brain fart happens sooner rather than later and he puts DS where he should be when James comes back and that is the 8th or 9th man in the rotation, specifically only on the floor when D'Lo isn't and even then he doesn't need to be in there if James is running the show. Why do I have this awful feeling that the only sub in the lineup for the Pelicans game (assuming he plays) will be James in for Brown and we see the same 2-PG starting again???? Because it is gonna happen. We are STILL waiting for a game where Reaves, D'Lo, Hachimura and our two star players are out on the floor for most of the game. Sprinkle in a shooter (Beasley) and your new shiny defensive toy (Vanderbilt) and those seven "should" be getting most of the PT... I mean if those 7 are getting your minutes, does anyone really care who your 8-10 are?? If you need more size on the perimeter you can work Brown in. If you need more speed or a spark that says Walker or Gabriel. Want rim protection, see Bamba. More penetration look to Dennis. Seriously the dude is clueless and by the time he figures it out it may be too late...
except for the bobcats for some reason they always struggled against those mf'ers. even the kobe/pau teams
Yes, this was my worry. It’s not the new players, it’s the coach I worry won’t figure it out in time. He’s already justifying playing DS and Dlo at the same time just as I thought so I have little hope he will change it. Maybe someone in the FO can just point out to him that he is misusing him. He should NOT be starting.
This is why I wasn't mad that the Lakers lost that game. I mean it sucks because we need every win we can get, but Dame was like hitting contested shots from 30 feet
Kurt the enforcer getting a muzzle was written into Ham's contract. You know ... the guy with the real juice.
nunn is a good player. he just wasn't going to get many chances here with the million other guards on the roster
Meh, Nunn is so bad on defense any offense he gives you is almost a wash, if not completely irrelevant. One of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen, I do that trade 100 times out of 100.
changes in situations can help players. i don't really care what nunn does there. he was bad here, almost uniformly. his replacement has been better than that. if washington feels the same, great! this is why the "winning" the trade stuff is dumb. that shouldn't be the goal for these gms. focus on improving your team. edit: let me add to this--this is why when you hear stories about gms not wanting to help other teams, i lose respect for them. it's why ainge and pritchard and whomever aren't great at their jobs, imo. your job is to improve your team. if other teams improve themselves at the same time, that's fine. your goal is to get better. the second your eyes drift from that, you're not fulfilling your duties.
Plus/Minus can vary when you are talking about non-rotational players. Sometimes the game is already decided, starters resting, etc or simply a player (or any of the other 4 on the floor with them) gets hot in those limited minutes, etc.. It is a good barometer for players who are firmly in a team's rotation. Not perfect by any means, but a good tool. Nunn is not even averaging 19 minutes a game for the Wizards. As for his scoring, no one ever doubted he couldn't score. His per36 is exactly at the same rate it was with us (17.9) as it has been so far in Washington. Hachimura on the other hand has already firmly established himself as a rotational fixture with the Lakers... To put it simply, that responding tweet was stupid...
