yeah, that's how i see it. he's incredibly talented, but he's misses more time than AD and has made it a habit of scorching earth behind him. look at the difference between how bkn handled his and kd's exits.

i'm really not interested now that we have a viable option in russell. he's clearly not as as good, but again, he's somehow more reliable. which is sort of amazing to say given russell's own history.

anyway, i actually really like the construction of the team as it stands right now. we need our big dogs healthy, and we need the team to have some time to play together, but if it were possible, i'd bring back the whole enchilada next year.

Yup, this is what Pincus was saying. Since we were the last team to trade him, we can’t sign him for a year. Only way around that would have been if another team traded him first (ie, if Utah had traded him to the Spurs, and then he got cut)

yeah, they're not particularly coherent individually or collectively. also, i think it's kind of rich that a guy with irving's proclivities would post the first one. it's dunning-krueger adjacent. others are not the ones having a hard time handling the truth of the world.

I think they're meant to criticize the media.

1: Media write comforting lies and not unpleasant truths bc that's what people line up for.

2: Journalists write whatever their overlords pay them to.

3: Most media try to erase and bully the one sharp pencil with different ideas.

4: Media are the devil dressing up as angels.

 

the classic effect is basically "you're not smart enough to know you're not smart". in all honesty, socrates nailed this a long time ago, as did probably many others. i hesitate to use the reference, because, ironically, idiots who can grasp the concept have meta-dunning-kruegered, and it's a hall of terrible mirrors.

dunning actually came and gave a talk when i was in grad school and he was first presenting the empirical support for the idea, btw. it hasn't held up perfectly, but the general idea is true, i think.

anyway, kyrie's an example of classic DK who probably thinks everyone else is the DK because he learned about the DK.

ok, sure. so we are to believe nothing but what we can see and comprehend and assume everyone has a motive to manipulate. so why promote a propaganda film on social media? serious question. if everyone is lying to me all the time for their own gain, how do i decide what to tell anyone else or what to internalize.
