If the structure of the deal with the Jazz is in place, then if it would be all three of Conley/Beasley/Vanderbilt would be needed for salary just for Westbrook alone (43 to 47 million). Of course, to get out of the two first round picks, LA may have had to move away from Vanderbilt (where many teams are inquiring) and take on washed up Rudy-Gays' second year instead (hopefully not).

Minnesota, if it wants Conley would then have to get themselves involved and trade us Russell. They seem to want added assets with that, but aside from a 2nd round pick; if I were Lakers I would just keep Conley. If they wanted to trade one of their bench forwards though (Anderson/Prince) I would add PatBev's return though along with Conley....

Ironically, that would be 60 million going out and 60 million exactly coming in for us.....

Oh no. In my next post I put Ham's finishing lineup:

    C-Reaves
    PF-Russell
    SF-Christie
    SG-Schroder
    PG-Beverly

Shams said in his original tweets on this that the sides were working through pick protections and additional draft compensation, so I don't think its just fallen apart.

Good, but I'd put Max at center, he looks stronger than Reaves. Otherwise, you got it.

    Quick edit:
then we bring Bron + AD off the bench and dominate. You're onto something here!!

Our roster building has been interesting to say the least. But giving up too much for an expiring player is super risky.

I’m sure he’s past his former issues, but we sure haven’t been as picky in general about only signing high character players in the Lebron era. Lots of players that should never have worn the uniform.

What if a Russell Westbrook got traded and released and was a FA in the forest ..... would it make a sound?

Ugh. I want nothing to do with DLO. I was fine seeing him go the first time. Not a smart player at all. I'd much rather just do the Utah deal for Conley, Beasley and Vanderbilt if it only cost us one first. I don't want to use a first to acquire DLO. Don't like it at all.

There's also the fact that Russell might play out of his mind with it being a contract year. He has the potential to be very good if he's locked in. He knows that a good run here at the end of the season and into the playoffs on a high visibility team could net him millions.

lol this is too perfect and so on brand for the Lakers. We work on a trade, only for 1 party to pull out last minute and trade the player we want to some random other team.

DLO has been a better player than Conley by just about every metric this season. He started off the season badly but has been 50/40/90 guy for the last 40 games.

Just listen to that wording... "Get rid of Russell Westbrook"

Yeah this dude has worn out his welcome with the team
